Had a part of a flight at the brewery. Would not have expect so much from a stout with only 27 IBU’s and 4% alcohol. Really is not missing much in terms of flavor (chocolate, coffee, earthy, malty, sweet, smoky) and mouthfeel- on the fuller side. Finishes smoother than the Collision and definitely more of a session beer. Still a bit bitter in the finish, but a really solid brew. andyhwcinc (1886) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 4, 2012
Enjoyed on tap at Sesame Burgers & Beer in North Charleston, SC while enjoying my honeymoon. Appearance is pitch black, moderate consistency, thin tan head. Aroma of very dark chocolate, bit of nuts, small bit of lactose, as well as a hint of mint, smells very good. Taste is good, goes down slightly bitter and sweet, notes of coffee and chocolate, goes well with both a meal and dessert. Relatively high carbonation, medium body. Pretty good stuff.
