2009. 12oz bottle. almost opaque black with no bubbles under a large fizzy brown head. sweet lactic chocolate aroma with sugared coffee. very nice creamy milky palate. flavors of roasted barley, milk chocolate, a hint of fruity pomegranite(hard cherry candy), and sugary lactose. creative and tasty. vinerd (17) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAY 14, 2009
2008 bottle at Oldsmar Tap House. Nice dark chocolate taste at first. Leaves a pomegranate after taste. Not sure exactly how to describe the smell. It was quite different but quite pleasant. scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 7, 2010
12oz (2008) - Black, tan creamy head. Roasty milk chocolate and coffee cream aromas warm to lighter notes of sweet caramel berry cake. Roasted choco-pomegranate and coffee tones balance on a lightly sweetened whiskey-like note. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, soft sweet roasty finish. Unique and well executed... machfive55 (358) - Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2010
The beer poured black with a two fingered head. The aroma was fruity and vinous like a Belgian, the flavor was sweet with caramel, fruit and a little smokiness. The palate was smooth with a light carbonation. Overall a lot like a Belgian with good sweetness, not quite what you would expect from this beer. BeerBaby (93) - , Florida, USA - MAY 16, 2010
Loved this beer. Had if from a bottle and at the Alabama brewfest thing in Huntsville. I thought it had a bit of that sweet sour thing going on. Complex and interesting. Very good!

Poured from a 12oz bottle a pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma is very pleasing of milk chocolate, raspberry truffles, and pomegrant. Flavor is amazing or rich chocolate that is complemented by the slight tartness from the pomegrant. Different from any other beer I have had....absolutely delicious!!! johnnnniee (4346) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 28, 2011
Bottle says 2008 on it, consumed May 2010. Received in trade from KarrHeel03, thanks for the opportunity!
Pours a solid black color with just the faintest of garnet highlights when held to the light. Tightly bubbled khaki head recedes slowly into the abyss. Smells of sweet perfume and chocolate and tart dark fruits, a little smoke and a hint of wet dog. Really a lot going on here. Taste is is kind of what I expected based on the aroma. Starts off with some tart fruits. I imagine pomegranate, raisins, plums, tart cherries dipped in chocolate. This melts into a bit of roasted grains, and leaves a roasted coffee chocolate finish. Medium to thick body, medium level of carbonation, creamy syrupy mouthfeel. This one is definitely different, but I think it works pretty well. The darker roasts seem homogenized perfectly with dark fruits. I wonder what this is like fresh. tgncc (3135) - Bellmore, New York, USA - JUN 19, 2011
Via trade with Dchmela. The aroma is like pomegranates covered in dark chocolate, roasty, fruity, nice. The appearance is deep black, tan head. The flavor is pomegranate, dark ripe fruit, dark chocolate. Medium to medium/thick in body. The finish is piney and citrus hops. Very little Belgian yeast signature. Very nice. Thanks, Dave. Deep malty richness with dark fruity subtle notes. This is a sipper. Thick black with huge cocoa head, truly beautiful in the glass. Booze in the nose. Very enjoyable. Jesterdeal (1985) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - AUG 13, 2013
Aroma of blueberry coffee, dark chocolate, and espresso. Pours black with a small brown head. taste is roast coffee and raspberry chocolate. Nice and roasty. Big coffee finish. Exciting brew.
