COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A special project from our brewers Seth & Derek, Corpse Reviver is a sour ale that was fermented in a 3rd-use whiskey barrel, where it aged for a number of months. Fresh meyer lemon zest was then added along with a heavy-handed amount of Crystal and Mandarina Bavaria hops.

On tap at Holy Mountain Brewing, Seattle. A 9oz pour into a mini snifter. It was a clear golden colour with a half finger white head, while leaving some lacing. Aromas of meyer lemon zest and citrus juice with subtle hints of bourbon, almost like a refreshing long island ice tea. Tastes lightly sour, lemon zest and juice. Light to medium bodied with moderate to low carbonation. Overall very nice and refreshing. Would love a bottle to age a year or two.

Tasting at Matt’s; 5.4% ABV, with Crystal and Hallertau Blanc hops, probably batch 2
Cloudy blond color. The aroma is very flowery, some lemon zest, some cleaning product, lemon popsicle; not bad, but weird in a beer. Nice flavor of lemon and slat, very sour, leading to strong final astringency.

Pours a clear pale golden with a small foamy rim that leaves low lacing. Nose is of lemon, fresh scent, zest and chamomille. Taste is really lemony as well and thus feels pretty tart with more zest. Super dry. Body is medium, carbonation moderate. A cool lemony drink that could use more balance but is not overbearing.

bottle shared by tom10101, many thanks mate! pours unclear very light golden with a small white cap offering some retention and lacing. fresh yet very perfumey lemon zest, black lemons, sour candies, medium to high acidity - some complexity; crisp peppery cereals, lots of salt. moderate carbonation, light body, dry sour citric finish. very interesting/intriguing lemony aroma yet a potent acidity prevails.

Bottle (750 ml), shared at tasting. Slightly hazy yellow with a small ring of white lacing. Aroma is intensely zesty with perfumy/pot-pourri notes, citrusy hops and whiskey notes. Taste is super lemony and zesty with medium acidity, perfumy notes, hints of whiskey and mild spiciness. Light-medium body. Moderate carbonation. Zesty finish. It’s not subtle at all but it’s fun. Zest aplenty. Good.

Cloudy and pale. On the nose, has a lemon balm aroma (I guess that’s the meyer lemon zest), with a nice tartness, and a lot of lemon. Good body, touch of yeast. I really enjoy the lemon character on this one, and it’s well-integrated.

750ml bottle @ Matt’s. Pours a cloudy yellow colour with no head. Nose is lemons and a tartness. Flavour is a lemonade bomb without the excessive sugar.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lovely effervescent lemons upfront, with a lovely floral character and some tartness. Flavour is hugely citric, with loads of fresh lemons upfront, followed by ample tartness and light whiskey. One of the better lemon beers out there no doubt. Very good.
