Tap in Abseits. Hazy pissy golden with a lacing, rocky bright white head. Great nose, citrus and some vanilla in with sunny malt and light grass, and caramel. Light bitterness, grainy and yeasty with some great pretzel and sourdough. Wooden tones, spicy hop notes, bright malt and lesser caramel. Light body. croc at the brewery. vibrant dry grass nose with pungent noble hops liveliness. nose and flavor of honey cracker malt is enjoyable. smooth and creamy with prickly hop acid and light apple juice flavor, but overall it’s delicious and genuine. the owner’s son trained under Ganstaller at Beck-Brau, and the result is one of the better vollbier’s in the area. kuphish (381) - Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA - NOV 2, 2011
Bottle. Pours a 1" foamy, frothy white head. Chunky yeast particulate in suspension. Otherwise clear, golden body. Aroma of dusty yeast, floral & woody hops, along with lightly sweet malt. Smooth, bready pils malt flavor dominates and is supported by some musty, lightly spicy hops. Medium-full body is fairly creamy and lightly carbonated. Sweet up front with a mildly bitter finish. Toasted bread and light caramel build a plump body before herbal hops and their bitterness balance out the finish.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A ring of foam dips into the krug.
-The hops took a while to appear; they were able to balance out the finish, but they were strangely shy in the aroma and flavor profile.
-Soft carbonation and agile sugars made for a pleasurable mouthfeel.
-A 2017 pint yielded some diacetyl in the nose.
-This was a quite drinkable, rustic, perhaps rough lager.

Herber Antrunk mit deutlich wässriger Note, dennoch ansprechend würzig, in Teilen auch mit rauchigen Aromen. Mit der Zeit wird das Bier würziger, die Wässrigkeit ist trotz Präsenz wenig aufdringlich. Deutlich holzig, die Würzigkeit wirkt dadurch trocken. Gelungenes und süffiges Bierchen. 9/10/11/11//11

From bottle at the Pigs Ear Beer Festival, London on 6 December 2006. Pale straw colour. Very doughy, bready aroma with a whiff of butterscotch. Pretty much more of the same on the palate - less bready and without the butterscotch. Very soft mouthfeel. Ends up relatively clean but not very inspiring.
