Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 15, 2011
Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a clear red. The nose doesn’t reveal much honey but lots of blackcurrant and a slightly chemical off-note. Medium body, sparkling, a little marzipan, dry and tart berry notes with some sulphur. No real honey notes though. Ends tart and almost astringent. A very unusual Mead. 150311

2.5
fiulijn (20516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 10, 2011
Corked bottle at Papsø’s; 12% ABV
Dark color, dark ruby; sparkling. Nice, mild aroma; vinous, with berry juice; very light smell of Band Aid or hospital disinfectant; sweat. The mouthfeel is quite dry, and astringent too; if any honey flavor, it’s very low, while the berry flavor is not to strong but at least more evident; unfortunately there is an extremely strong flavor of chemicals and disinfectants. The final as said is quite astringent. Not good, not well brewed.
