aroma of dark plums and raisins. Dark copper=gold color. Taste of sweet cherries, then a dry finish. Slight warnth from the alcohol. Med. body. BillKismet (4138) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 7, 2009
Medium mahogany color with little carbonation and a small, brief head. Traces of caramel malt in the aroma, soon followed by hints of dark fruit, though pretty understated. Mild caramel flavors, moderate diacetyl, slight bitterness. Pretty punchless for a barleywine, though the alcohol is well masked, making for a drinkable potent brew. luttonm (6763) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 12, 2008
Tap at College Inn in Seattle. Way out of balance, too sweet and too malty. very sticky and raw. soy and vinegar mess. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - OCT 10, 2008
Dark auburn pour with a thin head. Aromas of dark fruit, licorice, chocolate, and a touch vinous. Initial flavors of dark fruity sweetness and chocolate. Floral earthy hops come through, as does a good deal of smokey teriyaki and soy sauce. Full bodied, complex, and interesting. Skyview (6099) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - AUG 31, 2008
Sampled from a 12-oz bottle of 2006 vintage, picked up via ABA beer swap. Pours a semi-hazy dark caramel amber with a fast dissolving beige head that leaves behind some fine beige film that contains swirls and thin ring. Aroma of dry caramel malt, some soy sauce, raisins, some citrus zest, and dark pitted fruits. Taste is full bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of caramel malt, orange zest, a touch of dark pitted fruits and soy sauce. Finish is slightly chalky with a caramel malt and fruity aftertaste that lingers after the finish.

Courtesy of Skyview! Dark caramel or brown color with a thin head. Soy sauce, lightly oxidized malt and caramel. Thick, dry malt taste. Bready. A little fruit. More soy sauce. Solid. Angeloregon (2055) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 1, 2008
On tap at the brewery in Kingston, WA--Poured a dark brown body with a small wispy off-white head. Nose of sharp booze and spicy, hoppy, malty ingredients. Nice clean mouthfeel, but alcohol was overpowering. Finished quite dry with lingering sugary fruitiness. BrewDad (5667) - Olympia, Washington, USA - MAR 18, 2008

Aroma – This gave off a fruity aroma. There where some spice but nothing I could identify.
Appearance – Dark brown color, small head and clear.
Flavor – This was a light Barley wine. I felt like it was missing extra ingredients. Needed to add more malts and stronger spices.
Palate – Decent Mouthfeel, A watery texture with a semi dry finish.
Overall – The beer was just not happening also. Was missing some key ingredients. .Just felt way too light and like ti was pulled 6 months too early from the kegs.
mouth watering syrupy aroma of molasses, fig, caramel and orange all heavy and concentrated. poured heavy and thick in the glass with no head at all. sweet and sour on the sides of my tongue. touches of lavender in the finish. theres plenty of sugar left to chew on as it matures, yet very smooth in its youth. hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 30, 2008
12oz bottle acquired in trade with Larry Pitonka (this one is at least a year old) - thanks!. This bottel was filled to the very, very top. Poured a medium brownish color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of toasted malts, caramel, dark fruits, nuts, chocolate, and a little earthy. Tastes of dark fruits (lots of prunes and raisins, caramel, toffee, and some chocolate.
