3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
on tap @ Prospector’s / Denai Nat’l Park AK --- Nearly clear straw color with a full white head cover, streamers of lace. Taste is malt that reveals light clay on the swallow, and maybe a touch of sulfur (which an authentic Kolsch should have), moving from there to a lightly hopped finish. Balanced, a good example of the style.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
At Capital Brew fest.
This was poured into a mini snifter.
The appearance was a nice looking yellow color with a decent transparency rising in it. Light lacing clung here and there.
The smell had a nice blend of sweet citrus to malty sweetness of a slight sweet corn malt to it. Light spicy effects rail my nose in a nice way.
The taste was mainly sweet through more of a lemon sweet and almost bittersweet appeal.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed appropriately styled for the beer. It left a really nice sweet lemon aftertaste.
Overall, really nice kolsch I am wishing I could get on a regular basis. Oh well, just gotta make it up to Fairbanks for this.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Beer of month club. Pours a hazy straw color with white head that has a lot of lacing as it recedes. Aroma is mostly malt and some grassiness. Taste is sweet malts with a touch if bitterness on the finish. Refreshing, good for a hot day, but nothing that will really be remembered. (Good replacement for macrobrew on summer day.)
