Interesting. Orange-amber body with a very thin white head. Belgian malt aroma with a touch of citrus. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Candy sweetness flavor with a touch of alcohol warming. The finish is nice and dry (as advertised). A decent beer.
Bottle courtesy of Butters on 02/28/2011. Somewhat hazy orangish amber body with a medium foamy off-white head. Sweet fruit, banana, yeast, caramel and sugar aroma. Sweet fruit flavor, some spice, yeast and banana. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Butters (4063) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - FEB 28, 2011
Pours a clear dull amber with two finger offwhite head. Nose is semi-sweet with caramel and malt. Flavor is very sweet faint yeasty banana. Pretty decent for an american attempt lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 25, 2010
Clear amber orange, off white cover. Some banana esters, caramel aroma. Taste is more estery, metallic, some caramel malt, light apple fruit. marcus (10571) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 25, 2010
Pours hazy copper with a decent beige head and a toffee aroma. There is a pleasant caramel malt flavor that is carbonated and slightly bitter. rocbyter (2143) - Waterbury, Connecticut, USA - MAY 24, 2010
Doughy malt aroma. Clear light brown color with a small tan head. Mild bitter beginning that fades in the finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear copper color with lasting beige head. The aroma is surprisingly good: banana, clove, hints of citrus and various herbs. The flavor is a bit underwhelming, though. Clove, mostly, with some hints of peach, pear, and earth. There is a slight bitterness to the finish that seems rich, if that makes sense. Decent enough beer. bhensonb (15612) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 11, 2010
Bottle from the local Grocery Outlet. Pours amber with a slight foamy beige head. Smells like malt with some citrus and spice. Body is medium minus, and the carbonation is firm. Flavor is malt with yeast/spice and hop. It does finish rather dry. Not the best Belgian, but certainly acceptable. fidelis83 (2497) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - APR 7, 2010
Pours a slightly hazy medium to dark amber with a 2 finger, creamy off white head. Aroma is doughy yeast, caramel, pepper, light banana, and toasty grain. Flavor is dough, caramel, dusty grain, mild earth notes, hints of tree fruit, citrus and floral notes. Palate is light to medium bodied with a slightly chalky dry feel through most of it and a heavy, but not too sharp carbonation. Not exactly the best dubbel ever, but I could drink a few of these. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-amber color with a medium sized orange-white head that produced good lacing. The aroma was malty, fruity, tart and sugary. The flavor was banana, clove, sugar, candied fruit and caramel with a hint of rum. Fairly complex and interesting in flavor. Medium finish. Fairly full bodied. Nice. Bottle thanks to nuplastikk: Pours a transparent copper orange with a spotty-lacing white head. Has a sweet, light caramely malty nose with some doughy yeasty notes and a touch of fruity esters. Starts with pretty good fullness and well-dissolved carbonation with a lightly sweet sugary maltiness and biscuity notes before a slightly drier, toasty finish. A pretty good attempt at the style, but could use a little more complexity.
