Cask; Seasonal - May & June.
A very pale, light brew with a complex hop aroma. The Continental – type palate is from the high proportion of Malted Wheat, and Malted Barley. First Light heralds the beginning of summer! The beer takes it's name from the early morning sun, shining through the east windows of the Brewery as the brewing day begins with 'mashing in'.

Cask (handpump) at the Willow Walk (JDW), Victoria. Nearly ignored this as I was convinced I had rated it before. Glad I didn’t. Bright, pale gold colour. Hoppy and aromatic on the nose. Even more so on the palate. Lots of citrus. Insistent, developing bitterness. Very crisp and clean. Maybe a bit one-dimensional, but damn nice stuff.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2014 Gravicask (HBF2014, Friday)
Honey and dry hops in the aroma. Soft palate, carbonation low. Similar soft sweet malts in the taste. Finish excellent - beautiful hops, some zesty aromatics, a nice bitter hint, and some rich earthiness.
Rerate: Gravicask(HBF2014, Saturday)
Sweet soft real ale aroma - classic modern pale bitter. Soft palate, carbonation low. Sweet malts, a little biscuity, a little starchy. Resiny dry hops, leaves a pucker and your tongue curled up. Not quite as good as yesterday’s.

Cask Conditioned at The Olde Reinedeer, Banbury. This is the 3rd year for this light golden beer from Hooky brewery. The first it was delicious, but last year it was decidedly average, but this year its back to form and better. The new head brewer at the brewery has really put in some hard work and this delicious summer beer is a good example. Strong malts come through but little sweetness and then a big grapefruit woosh, probably there is too much flavour for long sessions but a very tasty beer nevertheless.
