Pale, delicately fruity and refreshing. Hooky Gold is a beer which marries English tradition with American pizzazz. It is the first of our beers to use an American hop variety, Willamette, grown in Oregon, and having moderate bitterness with a spicy, noble hop aroma.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Clear gold with a slight white head. Biscuit malt aroma with a touch of citrus fruit. Flavour was similar with a touch of boiled sweets pasteurisation and decent, bitter finish. Pretty good.

From Jun 2008 Purchased at Wilbur's Total Beverage. Nice medium gold in colour with a 2 finger head of foam and there's some good lacing. Head retention is very good! The nose has a nice hoppy(grass, touch of grapefruit) aroma with a bit of maltiness in the background, and after it warmed up some, I notice some fruity notes as well. The taste starts off nice with an earthy hop bitterness but then the malty sweetness comes into play and I find myself drinking a very nicely balanced Pale Ale. And...this tastes fresh! Dang. Medium mouthfeel here, the carbonation is light but right, and it finishes on the slightly malty side. Oh, and I find that it's very drinkable. I could easily put away a few of these at 1 sitting. I wish I had picked up more than 1 bottle of this but with UK beers, especially the ones that are light on the alcohol, you just never know what you're going to end up with. In my book, this is a winner.

500ml bottle from Tesco. Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with a thin white head. Nose is orange zest, straw, grass, biscuit and stone fruit, maybe a peach. Refreshing, easy going, light ale with bags of flavour. Very citrusy, zesty, touch resinous, and a nice biscuit, straw, grassy finish. Good session ale if in the pub, at 4.1% abv I could neck a good few of these.

Meget god humlet smag, og selve øllen smager af mere end 4.2 %. Rart at der laves øl der smager af meget til trods for lav procent

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Ocado. Pours clear gold with a frothy, pure white head. The aroma has crispy biscuits, light grass, melon, pine needles. Light sweet flavour with some pale grains, mild grassy bitterness, more biscuits, pale bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty clean on the finish, with more grassy hops, lemon rind, hay, dry pale malts. Nice easygoing golde.

Bottle. Pale Gold in colour. Hoppy; grassy & spicy hops. Fruity; zesty, citrus, grapefruit and lemon. Malty; light caramel and biscuity malts. Bitter, fairly sharp, citrus fruity throughout. Dry bitter hoppy finish. OK. Drinkable, but not really to my taste. (2009-12)

Leicht trübes goldfarben mit kleiner Schaumkrone. Malzig, leicht fruchtig, würzig, reichlich blumig, sehr süffig.
