Cask, GBBF 07. Poured it myself. Golden straw with a thin lacing white head. Nose is fruit, berries, very summery hops. Mouth is citrus hop and some malt that finishes in a hoppy rounded crisp end.

Clear gold with good white foam. Fruity & flowery hops all over. Malty feel. Sweetness. Bitter crisp, citrus/piney end - close to sour and biting your inner cheek. Nice hoppy Cask ale!

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2009 Bronze pint with a dense, clinging white head and lace. Mustily hoppy, slightly urine-scented nose. Big, heady, mouth-filling satsuma hop zestiness. Potently hopped and full-bodied for the ABV. Very fruity and hopsacky. Hop-dominated and almost approaching the fruitiness of an American IPA. Too headily citrussy to be a sessionable summer refresher, but very good all the same. 647416 (Cask, Raglan Arms, Rugby) Clear gold draped finely with white. Wine gum, passionfruit and stewed tea aroma. Sweet red apple, tangerine and passion fruit hop drying into a discreetly punchy finish, linger of vanilla and wafer. NZ soft fruitiness and wafery biscuit; a bit Kipling or punk IPA top, husky bitter afters. Impressive and surprisingly hoppy quencher. 737314 (cask handpull at the brewery) Lush tangerine-Ovaltine balance, overripe orange aroma, crunch of red apple. Top US hopped English sessions, 738415.

Cask at the Wharf, Aalborg. Clear, pale golden, almost yellow, with a small white head. Citrus, bitterness and some malt in the aroma. Very citrusy flavor with some malt as well. Medium body and a citrusy and piney finish. Quite nice. (070331)

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2007 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Golden with a white head. Floral hop aroma. Strong citric fruity taste and a sharp dry finish. It seems churlish to complain after condemning some other golden ales as watery, but curiously I found the taste experience of this one rather too intense and flavourful. Perhaps it was the weather.

Cask at Charlies Bar, Copenhagen. A hazy golden beer with a thick light orange head. The aroma is sweet flowery, combined with light notes of peaches, on a light malty back ground. The flavor is sweet and very flowery and with strong notes of peaches, leading to a dry and lightly bitter end. The body is a bit thin, but it is a very drinkable beer.

Renamed Hooky Gold. Cask, handpump @ the Hook Norton Brewery, Hook Norton.
Sunny gold in body, beautifully bright with a solid " white pad that left behind minimal legs. Ripe, spicy citrus fruits tickle the nose with some honey and a light showing of pine underneath. Dry, slightly savoury and spicy fruits in the mouth. Aged tangerines, tangy grapefruit and vine leaves, very soft showing of clean malts and some dry pine similar to the aroma. This worked nicely. Very light bodied but holds in itself a lot of flavour. Finish has a gripping bitter edge before it slides off fresh and juicy. Becomes nutty as it warms and flattens beyond its very, very light residual carbonation. Like macadamia nuts washed down with some high energy fruit punch. Quite a nice quaffer, definitely sessionable. Thanks to the nameless lorry driver who served me up a pint of this and shared a yarn or two. Very nice!!!!
