Tasted 3/4/08. 500ml bottle. Filtered with a ruby garnet hue. Tight ring of cream colored head. Aromas of toffee and sweet breads. Medium bodied with smooth malts. Touch dark chocolate and red berries. Fudge and cocoa. Mild toast. Nice British interpretation. Sweet and bready. Slight hop character. Mild spice.

Good brown color, small off white head that faded quickly leaving nothing behind. The aroma was roasty with maybe some hints of chocolate and a faint hint of smoke hidden in there as well. The flavor is malty upfront with a nice smooth roasty side some hints of chocolate.Very smooth brew with some nice flavors much better then i was expecting, and well worth trying again.

Dark brown with highlights that are more brown than amber. Aroma is delicious. It is full of fruit and sweet malt. Raisin is prominent. Flavor is also full of dark fruit and is not as sweet as the aroma and is moderately bitter. It is roasted nut with coffee. This is a wonderful beer that one could spend an evening with.

Aroma is strong and richly malty with a strong overtone of brown sugar. It pours a clear dark brown with a thick, fine-bubbled, off-white head that stays around. Flavor is malty with ribbons of brown sugar or molasses and smoky and nutty hints. Aftertaste is rather sweet but not cloying; there is just a whisper of hop bitterness. A delightful ale.

Bottle from West Lakeview Liquours, Chicago. Dark brown with small off-white head. Aroma is doughy with caramel, brown sugar and red fruit. Flavor is caramel with some nuttieness, fresh brown sugar (if brown sugar can seem fresh), red fruit, sweet, some hop bitterness in the finish. Medium to full creamy body. A solid mix between a brown ale and a winter warmer.

Bottle. Pours mahogny with a thick yellowish head. Fruity aroma with prominant plums and even prunes.A little chocolate makes it through, too. Chocolate tastes move to the forefront with fruity flavours in the background. Some earthy notes. Medium body. Very nice.

Bottled. A dark brown coloured beer with a short lived tan coloured head. The aroma is fruity with plums and prunes. Alcohol and wood also. A little chocolate in the fruity vinuous, warming taste. A good tasty beer which doesnt suffer at all for the pasteurization, but then the maltier beers dont.
