Brown with short lived head. Choc And caramel malt, raisins and nuts aroma. Sweetness with an underlying bitterness. Surprisingly prickly carbonation given no head. varanid99 (1337) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 14, 2013
Dark brown, cola coloured pour with very little head, just a little "slick" on top. Aroma is malty, caramel, dried fruits. Taste is malt, caramel, nuts, dried fruit, pretty smooth, very little bitterness. vinhol (346) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 6, 2013

Dark with quite a mixed bag of flavours and a slightly bitter aftertaste. Could drink a couple olliejobbins (1577) - Dorking, Surrey, ENGLAND - JUL 28, 2013
500ml bottle. pours a dark brown with very small head. just noticed that this is brewed for xmas. I had it in the height of summer on one of the hottest days - still went down well! aroma is rich of malts and spice. taste is much the same and as per the description, a very smooth after taste. some spices right at the end. My Bottom Line:King_Dean (63) - SOUTH AFRICA - JUL 9, 2013
Beautifully detailed malts develop toasted nuts, caramel and fruit jam before salient leafy hop bitterness balances out this pleasant Strong Bitter.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam ruby-hued dark brown.
-Malts in this one are multifaceted. I would have loved to find it on cask...
-The hop bitterness is more important than I had expected. That green, leafy finish is enduring. It tends to take away from the beauty of the malts though...
-The mouthfeel is rather lean and carbonation is prickly yet soft.
-Drinkability is pretty high.
Deep mahogany pour. Thin tan head. Sweet malty. Nutty aroma. Dark fruit, mollases, nuts on the tongue. Smooth warm finish. Low bitterness. scottkelly (16) - Somerset West, SOUTH AFRICA - JUL 6, 2013
Nice dark color resembling coffee. I get mixed aromas from nutty, to banana, to licorice, and even a bit of plum. There is a bit of body and its also quite smooth. Bready with a slight nuttiness. Would definitely be a cold weather beer.
