Ice Wharf, Camden, London. Rubyish brown colour with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, chocolate, some nuttyness as well as some hints of fruits and some earthy notes. Flavour is quite much the same in a nice balance. Nutty and caramelly finish.
Cask at the Nags Head, Reading. Deep mahogany in colour with a beige head; treacle aroma; complex flavour with lots of sweet malt and hints of tar, licorice and roasted nuts; the finish is dry and smoky with a sustained but gentle hoppy bitterness. UPDATED: JAN 31, 2011 Cask conditioned handpump Crosse Keys London. A mahogany coloured beer with a little off-white coloured head. A boozy sweetish aroma with caramel notes, as well as some nuts and raisins. The taste is similar. Nice wintery fruits and some coal. A good length and a very tasty beer. Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 16/12/09. Medium brown in colour with a slight, tan head. Sweet aroma of prunes, dates, nuts and spice, with a touch of earthiness. Cask at Charlies Bar, Cph. Pours deep chestnut brown with a nice, small, creamy, beige head. Great duration. Soft aroma, light prunes and chocolate. Low carbonation, lovely creamy mouthfeel - lightly prickly. Nice flavour. Lots of chocolate, fruitiness, sweet malts, toffee. From cask at Charlies. Pours dark brown and with a mild redish glare with a small tan head. Mild fruity and hoppy aroma. Light roasted malt flavoured with a light spice note and a mild fruity accent. Dark caramel and slight breadish flavoured into a mild bitter finish. Mild liqourice note.
