"A strong, dark brown beer, offering a dominantly malty palate with nutty overtones. The finish is lyrically sweet that speaks for its strength. A fine partner to the Cheese Board."

Cask at the Moon under Water, Hounslow. Near black with a lasting beige head. Lightly plummy nose with hints of cocoa and roast coffee. Rich and creamy textured, dry-sweet and roasty-fruity. Finishes burnt-sweet and dry roasty bitter. Delicious.

Hand pulled at probably the Wellington, Birmingham. Pretty dark. A fruity, dark berry styled ESB. Sweet, smooth and thick. A bit sticky, but engaging.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Surely the best Hooky beer. Dark brown with a beige head. Chocolate malt aroma. Dark, sweet, rich, fruity taste, vinous and wonderful. Bitter finish. Totally delicious.

Cask at William Jolle (Spoons), Northwood Hills. A dark brown/ruby coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Malty, caramel, dark fruit aroma. Tastes the same, malty, caramel, dark fruit, slightly nutty (like me). One of the better UK festive brews available.

For the sake of the social interaction just numeral ratings and/or some highlighted attributes. Quite dull strong ale from a decent brewery. Nothing worth of highlighting, but still good.

On cask at Porterhouse. Appearance: dark cloudy plum/raisin with a medium dirty white head. Aroma: Sour, rhubarb & cherry, a little lactose with grass and dark fruits and chocolate . Flavour: dark chocolate, a little of the tartness I got in the aroma present, cherry and chocolate, hint of chicory, coffee, good bitterness and tartness in the finish. Quite lovely.
