"A strong, dark brown beer, offering a dominantly malty palate with nutty overtones. The finish is lyrically sweet that speaks for its strength. A fine partner to the Cheese Board."

Cask (handpump), Lord Moon of the Mall, Whitehall. A tasty, if relatively restrained, winter warmer. Plummy fruit, smooth caramel malt, nutty nuances with enough spicy hop to provide balance. Ticks all the right boxes without being too ostentatious. A fine specimen.

Cask conditioned 5.5% @ Giddy Bridge (JDW), Soton. Dark raisiny fruit and toffee. Some sweetness with a little almondy alcohol and bittersweet crystal finish. Tasty but subtle flavours.

Pint pulled at The Raiway in Putney (London), a dark ruby brown withsa filmy head. A very strong malty aroma and a slight fruitiness. The malt is very strong again in the flavour with something sweetish in the background (kind of like cherries). Sits is the mouth beautifully and gives me a warming feeling (a little like brandy).
