Kauge (2063) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 26, 2017
Can, LCBO. Dark brown, big light beige head. Very sweet kind of Schwarzbier, lots of molasses, not too much roastiness. Dry, earthy.

(2260-250717)

On tap at the Highlander Pub, Ottawa. Pours a beige foamy head, maybe an inch of thickness and has a dark brown appearance, light red hues. Aromas are mainly malts and earthy hops. Flavours of coffee and light chocolate notes. Some mild spices. Pretty watery mouthfeel though. Not too bad but cannot beat Kostritzer.

piscator34 (2620) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - FEB 20, 2017
Can. Near black in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of chocolate syrup and minerals. Flavors are of roasted malt, mild chalk, pilsner malt, and a hint of light roast coffee. Light bodied and a bit savory from the roast and mineral notes. Would pair well with food. Solid.

The finish on this beer is mild – like most lagers – but the aroma of black coffee and chocolate is strong. My first black lager and the first black beer of any kind I liked. Nice.

Pours black with a tanned head. Aroma is espresso and dark chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts,  coco, and dark fruits. It has a medium creamy body with bit of a sweet finish. Really enjoyable.
