COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big flavor, intense pine and citrus aroma. We keep the malt profile clean in this Imperial IPA to let the love lights shine on the fine Northwest hops.

From bottle. Dark golden orange color. Great citrus and grapefruit hop aroma. Well hopped, but very balanced with a sweet citrus caramel and tart grapefruit flavor. Finishes with an intense hop kick and slight warming.

Pours clear medium golden with a nice white head. Large bubbles race from the bottom of the glass in huge quantities. You can smell this beer as soon as you open the bottle. Aroma of hops, malts and flowers. A good smell, but this beer smells strong. Interestingly, after smelling this beer the flavor isn’t as powerful as I would have expected. Starts off with citrus and molasses and builds with a hoppy finish. This beer is fairly malty and is a bit thick in the mouth. In my opinion, this imperial IPA doesn’t do as good a job as hiding its 9% ABV as some others. Definitely an intense aroma and interesting taste, but I think it comes up a little short in some other areas.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy light to medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (cookie, toasted grain), moderately hoppy (apricot/peach, orange, melon), with hints of sour vegetable matter and plastic. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, velvety/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic, lightly astringent. This is pretty good despite some brashness and rough edges. Nice fruity hops with only minor off notes.A bit kitchen sink-ish in the mouth...balanced, but just too much of everything really...kinda fatiguing like many DIPAs can be. Kinda hot and syrupy in the mouth too. Despite these nits, it really is pretty solid for the style, but not something I’d buy again.

Very nice imperial IPA with a smooth sailing across the gums and tongue. Blessing to drink this one, had it after Jai Alai from Cigar City and that’s a good build-up!

I like this one more than the alphadelic. Goes down smooth, not overly bitter.

Pours a cloudy gold, with white head. Aroma of pine and hops. Taste is hoppy, rich and complex. This is a very nice IPA. Thumbs up.

Bottle. Pine resiny hop aroma with grapefruit hop citrus and some caramel malt notes. Pours cloudy orange colored with a large tan head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Starts with some caramel malt flavors as well as good grapefruit citrus flavor and acidity. Finishes very dry with bitter pine resiny hop flavor that lingers on the palate after each sip. Pretty nice.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear light copper gold with a big pillowy white head that retains well and leaves some lacing

. The aroma is sweet bready caramel malt with piney resiny hops and a little fruit.

The flavor is sweet caramel malt with some fruit and lots of bitter resiny hops that are slightly harsh. The mouthfeel is medium to fill bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a fairly well balanced DIPA.

I bought this in a bomber in Billings, MT and consumed it at Canyon Lodge in Yellowstone Park. It comes out a splendid yellow-amber fluid and gives a strong, long lasting white head that is replenished by some active carbonation. I smell pine needles (quite appropriate), biscuit and grain. The taste is just short of a hop bomb. I detect pine, grass and grapefruit with a mighty fine, lingering bitterness. Tip of the hat to the brewer. Enjoyed in the time and the place.
