UPDATED: JUN 11, 2017 Very smooth and refreshing beer! It’s almost like a cocktail, but then not sweet fortunately. This is the ultimate summer beer I suppose, drink very cold and with some nuts on the side.

Pours a thin head on a darker straw body. Aroma is grain and danky grapefruit. Taste is orange zest and lemon bitter. Texture is crisp.

MelvinKalksma (1629) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 5, 2017

Aroma:
Medium aroma of malts, caramel, orange, hops and citrus.

Appearance:
Turbid amber/orange beer with heavy aroma an with a slight beige head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel and orange; ends slightly bitter and dry with hops and citrus.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. Definitely needs the added orange peel, because it feels rather flat and empty otherwise. Super refreshing, but could have used more hops than just nugget.

Oranje kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt fruitig, citrus, orange. Smaakt fruitig, bitterzoet, tikkeltje dun.

33cl bottle shared at home. Pale orange with a medium slightly off-white head. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Nice bitterness with sweet fruitiness. Caramel, orange, pine, grapefruit and some wheat. Nice.

12 oz bottle. From beerrepublic.com.
Slightly cloudy orange color with a small white head. Leafy hoppy aroma with some dry maltiness and tea notes. The flavor is old hops, dryness, leaves and tea. Must be old. No freshness info on the bottle.

Bottle from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Aroma is loads of orange, orange peel, mandarin, light malt, some hoppy notes. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied. Well yes, this certainly lives up to its name, bucketloads of orange, mandarin, with some hoppy notes. One-sided and not great, but being a citrus freak I enjoy this...

Bit watery. Very, very slight hint of bitter orange, but not a lot of taste other than that. (K)

hayduke (5575) - Eureka, California, USA - OCT 19, 2016
Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. Poured clear and gold with a dingy white head. Mose of orange. Lots of orange. Sweet malts almost like honey. Light to medium body. Zesty zip in mouthfeel Flavor is orange zest. Lots of orange zestr. Sadly not much else. Finishes orange zest bitter. Somewhat one dimension but and OK summer beer.

Bomber from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Clear honey golden with a two finger soapy off white head. The nose is orange and honey which is also the flavor. Feel has some fizz to it. Lots of zest in here with lesser melon. This is pleasant but it lacks depth and complexity.
