Can at Hopcat Royal Oak on 07/22/17. Yet somehow this can is from 01/2017? How is it that you’re giving me a 6-month old IPA can of the house beer? That was disappointing to see, but not as disappointing as the rest of this beer. Pours a pale yellow color, white prominent malt notes, sweet caramel, maybe some corn. It just smells old. Perhaps some faint notes of citrus or orange rind linger behind. Flavor is bitter pine and sweet caramel. Malty up front and bitter in the back. Just what you want from an IPA... Disappointing.

From 16 oz can into pint. Yellow body, medium white head. High carbonation, grassy aroma ,with some caramel. Medium sweetness, medium to high bitterness. Standard well done IPA.

Draft to taster at HopCat in Kalamazoo. Looks good; a transparent fuller gold with foamy eggshell head. Smells of fruity hops and a hint of fruitcake with a mildly bittersweet backbone. Tastes less hoppy, and more biscuit than fruitcake. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied. Solid, but smells better than it tastes.

Pour from a 16oz can bought at the party store around the corner... Cloudy orange amber brew with a nice white head, good lacing. Aroma is dominated by resinous hops. taste is moderatelmalt up front with tart and tropical fruit notes emerging early, building tropical fruit towards the middle of the swallow and finishes with resinous, earthy and dank notes at the end. A solid well balanced American IPA ... or to put another way yet another middling American IPA. Well, I’m enjoying it...

Sample at HopCat Grand Rapids. This beer is a slightly cloudy yellow-orange color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, hops and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Murky terrible yellow color with medium white head. Aroma of lemon. Decent flavor, well balanced. I’m disappointed it was brewed off premises and not brewed at their own location.

Purchased at Siciliano’s Market in Grand Rapids, MI; enjoyed on a fantastic late summer / early fall evening before going to a show. Appearance is cloudy gold with a rich white head. Aroma is hoppy. Taste is hoppy. This is an IPA that does the trick and there’s nothing really that stands out. It’s good.
