Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. A little wierd and sour, otherwise drinkable. Looked like a Belgian brown, Less sour and would be a dessert beer. So would be good to lose the sour aspect. Interesting experiment in any case. I understand not grapes. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 2, 2010
On tap at the Hopcat. Dark amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma of prunes, malt, spice and fruit. Taste of prunes, malt and spices with some mild fruit in the background. A touch sour with a dry finish, but not bad. deyholla (11908) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 25, 2010
Sampled from the tap at the 2010 MBG Fall Fest. Poured a cloudy purplish brown with a slight yellow he and a yellowish head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a nice earthy tone with some dark fruits and a bit of sweet grains. Flavor was full of dark fruits and some sweetness coming from the malts in the finish. Draft sample. Poured clear brown color with an average fizzy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt, fruit and prune aroma. Medium body with fizzy carbonation and smooth texture. Medium to heavy complex sweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations were met.
