Bottle. Aroma is dark fruit and cardboard. Tastes the same. Super thin and watery. Meh. rumproasts (5573) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAR 10, 2015
tap at 2015 michigan winter beer fest. Black with small head. Big Russian Imperial-style stout. Solid bitterness, with quite a bit of booze. Very nice for the style.

In short: A messy big stout with too much soy sauce. Meh.hopdog (12953) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 15, 2013
How: Bottle 22oz, probably fresh, shared pre-HF FoFA 2013 tasting.
The look: Black body topped by a long-lasting small can head.
In long: The “off” nose has tar, dark stuff, light bourbon notes and fusel that all combined to create some kind of shoe polish sensation. Weird. Mouthfeel is slimy with carbonation on the low side. Taste is big blackened malts, tar, too much soy sauce, molasses, bourbon notes (but I don’t even think it is bourbon barrel aged), roast, a weird herbal spiciness. A bit of a mess here, maybe a bad bottle or a bad batch. Serving this beer in a tasting as mean as giving a yoyo for birthday gift to a midget.
2011 vintage. Bottle # 48 (I hear out of 83). Dark brown pour with an off white head. Body somewhat on the thinner side with the alcohol content hidden. Chocolate, lighter roatiness, some dark fruits, and some cocoa. crossovert (13724) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 24, 2013
Unsure if it is infected or not but a tart and fruity beer with some booze notes.

Nice spice and tang in taste here. Pours black with some creamy head and average carbonation. Aroma has booze, chocolate and nut. Sweet and bitter taste but mostly bitter. On tap at Hopcat. brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - DEC 6, 2012
Pours black in color with a tan head. Heavy on the roasted malt and cocoa notes. Some licorice, toffee, and dark fruit sweetness. A bit of coffee, mild oak, vanilla, and alcohol. Flavor is moderately sweet from the toffee and dark fruit characteristics. Coffee, roasted malt, a bit of char, and some dark chocolate. Light booziness, mild vanilla, and some oak notes. 2012 bomber, noted as "aged in bourbon oak barrels". Poured deep brown with a short cap of dark tan head.. settled down fairly quickly. The aroma picked up slightly funky (think cherry dust and a kiss of fruity Brett) maple and molasses notes with accents of vanilla plus sweet and metallic bourbon.. warm, toasted, almost brandied sugars on the back of the nose.. this grew on me. The flavor found tart bourbon and oak throughout.. mostly maple sweetness on the middle.. dry, fruity brandy and some bitter roast on the finish.. almost a kiss of Brett in the end.. weird, but aiight. Medium-plus bodied with low-moderate carbonation on the palate.. slick at times.. overall a good feel and flow save for a little more sourness than I wanted. fletchfighters (1553) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 19, 2012

Infected bottle #11.
Lots of sour cherry notes to this bottle. In nose, in taste, and mouth. Still good though. Dark brown to chocolate appearance. Small light brown head.
Sour cherry nose with chocolate and coffee. Carries to nose and mouth feel. Bummer as rest of beer is good. j12601 (13028) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - NOV 11, 2011
Bottle at James’s place. Pours a deep black with a thin tanned head. Sweet dark fruit and chocolate. Spicy chocolate, roast, caramel, toast. Medium bodied, light booze note comes through. Lingering chocolate and warm booze.
