tap at the brewpub last summer - Pours amber with a minimal head and a mild caramel malt aroma. It tastes fairly bitter, making it well hopped for the style, but it stays balanced and has a mild bitter finish. Pretty good. esjaygee (3902) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 4, 2010
On tap at the Hopcat. Clear copper with a creamy tan head. Aroma of toffee, toasted malt and dark fruit. Taste is of mild toffee and caramel with some nuttiness and notes of rye. cbfobes (2888) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - AUG 31, 2010
On tap at Hopcat, pours a nice copper color with white head, the aroma overall dissapointed me, some sweet malt but overall pretty bland, has a nice sweet finish with a slight hop kick in the finish. hopscotch (11485) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 16, 2010
Draft… RBSG 2010… Clear, deep copper lager with no head. Roasted nuts, biscuit and light caramel and a pinch of chocolate malt in the reserved aroma. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and faint carbonation. Sweetened black tea, toffee and a hint of lemon in the flavor. Bittersweet, very mildly acidic finish that dries out.

On tap at Hopcat. Poured clear coppery-amber with a short off-white head. The aroma was soft with some nutty, caramel, and molasses notes.. touches of honey and citrus too.. pleasant enough. The flavor was on the sweet side with nutty notes and caramel leading.. light earthy bitterness around.. finished dry with nutty and caramel malts spiced with light bitterness. Medium-bodied and dry overall on the palate.. OK flow.. quite drinkable. j12601 (13466) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - AUG 10, 2010
On tap at HopCat while in town for RBSG. Pours a ruby tinged amber with a thin beige head. Toast and malt, crisp. Toasty malt, grainy. Crisp grain and light toast. Nice and easy drinking. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUL 26, 2010
Sampler on tap at HopCat (Grand Rapids, MI). Pours a dark amber brown, little offwhite head laces minimally. Aromas are lightly bready, a touch of toffee, faint spice, bready malts. Initial is the same, a bit malty, with bready, light spice, a bit of biscuit, light floral hopping. Not a bad lager with a touch of spice, dulled sweetness, light (too light in my opinion) hopping. Ok, but nothing special. Tmoney99 (15211) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 8, 2010
Draft. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish that was moderate in duration. This is a solid beer for style.
