quite roasted for a BIPA, astringent, thin, low carbonation, boozy, pithy. lack of body and too much roastiness did for this one too...shame

Welsh rate 100. Bottle from cotteridge wines. Black beer with medium head and good lacing. Aroma of coffee beans, roasted malts and some mild fruit. Taste is roasted malts, some coffee, light prunes and some hops. Very good.

Cask conditioned at The Christmas Steps, Bristol. Black with tan head. This is a full on flavousome beer, rich, darkly roasted bittering malts with drying, fruity hops. Tropical fruits on chocolate roasted malts, who could ask for anything more?

Racked Cask at Stourbridge Beer Festival 16/04/15 Clear Black poured IPA with off white covering. Nose is Pine, hops and malt. Taste is Pine, Citrus, charcoal, with a hoppytastic bitter finish. Large.

330ml bottled Jan 2015 at 6.1%. Picked up at Gravity Station Cardiff. Dark brown, small foamy beige head doesn’t last. Droopy lacing. Aroma is alcohol, pine, light coffee, dry earth. Body is medium, slightly foamy, tingly carbonation. Taste is cola cubes, straw, a little spearmint, astringent without being very bitter at all, a little alcohol. Drying out the back of the mouth. Quite nice.

Cask at the York Tap. It pours deep ruby brown with a thick beige head. The nose is roasty, pine, dank hop, cocoa, coffee, charred wood, dark fruits and berry. The taste is rather bitter, punchy, rich roast, coffee, charred wood, light ash, mild acidity, pine action, dank hop and cocoa with a lingering dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Great condition. Punchy and tasty.

Cask at the Hopcraft MTB, the Fox Haggerston, 29/01/15. Light black with reddish hues and a decent light tan covering, good lacing ensues. Nose is earthy, charr, tangy red berry fruit, spice, cocoa rub, pine, dank hop presence. Taste comprises dank hops, pine needle, spice, faint liquorice, toffee, roasted tones. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close peppered with earthy hop bitterness. Solid cask CDA, good bitter stuff.
