Cask @ Blakes of Dover, 1 February, 2006
Wonderful winter warmer in true style. Big flowery hoppy aroma. Sweet but not overly so. Bitter but well balanced. Complex but still easily overviewed. Fruity, nutty, toffee, butterscotch, malts, hops. The full monty.

Cask at Dover Beer Festival. I am a self confessed fan of this brewery and this beer bears all the hallmarks of why I like it. Really interesting malts and a good agressive hop flavour. Sweetish malt with good fruit leads to a big satisfying finish. As you can tell I am a big fan

Orange-red with beige head. Fruity aroma with tutti-frutti tones. Flowery with tones of hops. Hoppy flavor, dry with really nice bitterness

Dark amber color. Nice malty aroma. Round malty taste with a good hoppiness. Good one.

Dark toffee colored pour. Small off white head. Not much lacing. Huge roasted biscuit aroma. Malt. Malty taste with a slight rubber note. Not bad at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fully hazy orange-amber; amber-yellow head, irregular, fast dwindling. Perfumed, vanilla, cardemom peel nose. Touch smoked flavour, tobacco-ashes. Quite some hops, not exactly the best IMO. Lots of malt, giving some (bitter) chocolate in the finish + more tobacco. Medium bodied. Mineral water feel, refreshing despite the dark malts. Nice beer, but only a Brit would call a 6% ABV beer a "strong" ale...

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of kook. Clear, orangey brown with a lightly creamy, off-white head. Slightly perfumy, hoppy nose. Medium body, malty and lightly caramelish. A dry and rather clean, hoppy finish. 210906

Bottle bought from Asda in Folkestone whilst on holiday.Dark brown and slightly dry with a small head. Not a lot of body but enough flavour to make it a pleasant if average example of this style.

[email protected] Light fruity, light herbal and malty aroma. Brown beige head, good lace. Malty, herbal, hoppy, sweetish, light bitter. Medium body. Flavourful.
