Pours black with a gigantic head.
Nose shows liquorice, roasted malt and a metallic/mineral like note.
A mixture of roasted malt and an acidic tang as flavours with a hit of coffee in the finish.
Carbonation is too high. Chrishrt30 (102) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 13, 2013
Thin tan head and a thick black pour.
Heavy chocolate, coffee and brown sugar aromas. Nice fruits, plum raisin and cognac.
A little thin, nice chocolate and liquorice. Dark fruits, brown sugar, a lot of burnt toast and a little doughy.
Finish has a little rye like taste, with roast malt and hop bitterness.

Fruit dominant nose, smells quite wild, almost a bit sour. Gigantic head on the beer, black body. Almost a red tinge to the head. Tastes very farmyard, definitely not your average stout, chocolate and coffee characterists very well hidden by the upfront sourness from the fruit flavours. Quite thin tasting and over-carbonated. Not really sure what this beer was trying to be, not bad, but not really sure. hawthorne00 (3900) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - SEP 5, 2013
Bottle. Black with a large tan head. Aroma of blackcurrants, mocha, licorice. Rather farmyardy. Thin body, no oaty smoothness here. Astringent taste with coffee, blackcurrants, jarring citrus notes. Not without its charms but something’s awry with this one. gam (3909) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - AUG 25, 2013

Bottle from Plonk. Very dark brown/black, over-carbonated, large gushing head, chocolate/coffee, dark roasty bitterness, light body, thin-medium texture, dry finish. Ok, but not a stand out. Let down by carbonation issues. Maris (1498) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - AUG 10, 2013
From a 330ml bottle on 10/8/2013 Pours near black with a medium tan head. Has quite a strong chocolate aroma with a touch of coffee in there as well. Chocolate and mocha dominate the flavour, though the sweetness in moderate and tempered by a nice, quite distinct roasty, dark chocolate bitterness. The body is medium, as is the carbonation (very pleased to come across a HopDog where the carbonation is not explosive!). While it may not have the X factor, it’s still a very solid, well made, enjoyable stout. Sevenlee (1846) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - AUG 1, 2013
Pours totally black with a lively brown head. Aroma is malt, soy, chocolate, coffee and some hops. Taste is very sweet of soy leading to a sour finish. Mouth feel is very bubbly. Quite disappointing. Jessop (207) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 22, 2012
Bottle sample, Pours typical stout black with decent tan foam, Rich chocolate and coffee and roasted malts dominate. The flavour is quite smooth with strong malts holdiing sway with hints of darkish fruits mid palate. The stout finishes pleasantly long.
