This is crap. Its not a double ipa, its not even a normal ipa. Has no hop flavor at all. Very strong alcohol taste. Almost like a bourbon county stout. If you are into ipa s do not drink this. I am from Chicago with great brewers near by such as 3 floyds. This is junk. I live in australia now and there is NO good ipa. Matilda bay is the closest thing to a real ipa and its still crap. Dont buy any australian ipas. Go New Zealand if you want the real deal.

Bottle. Pours golden orange with resilient bold tight off white head. Hop aromas of citrus tropical fruit, light pine and cat pee. Malt balances on the nose with a light caramel and grainy malt character. Medium body, medium carbonation. Bitterness is there and intense though the malt body balances well. Lingering bitterness - a hop head's delight

Bottle. Amber with a huge off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, peach, pine needles, lychees in syrup. Some overt alcohol. Overcarbonated. Sweet with caramel and peach before very strong bitterness. Pine, pineapple, grass and citrus linger. Alcohol sticks out a fair bit. Hops work well in the aroma and break though the sweetness but mainly as a roar - but I guess theyre my usual complaints about this sort of thing.

Bottle from Mogo Vintage Cellars. Deep hazy orange/copper colour, lasting frothy head, aroma is solid citrus/pine hops, mouh-puckering bitterness, but not out of balance due to solid malt backing it up. Oily texture with resiny aftertaste. Loved this, one of Tims best.

Longneck bottle- Lovely dark orange colour with a nice foamy head when splashed into the bottom of the glass. All i can say is Hops baby!!!!

Bought from a store quite close to the brewery. Pours a solid copper colour with little head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Dense and viscous on the palate. Somewhat reminiscent of a certain dogfish brew. A good solid DIPA or is that an imperial IPA? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2013 Tried this beer at the new hip Sydney bar Frankies Pizza. Not what I expected. Order two longnecks - one of them foamed out upon opening. Apparently this has 150 IBU though the bitterness is disguised by a sweet maltiness. delicious though difficult to drink. Tried again at Harts Inn - much better. Maybe they store it better? Much more pleasant experience. plate and flavour much more agreeable this time round

(bottle) Undercarbonated. Fragrant and unusually strong volatile hop aromas. Could not pick the variety, but nice clean hops. Deep copper colour. Did I mention it was undercarbed? Very sweet initially, early on would not have picked this as 150IBUs. Quite cloyingly sweet in a syrupy way. Wait the bitterness is kicking in and numbing my tongue! Holy crap. Warm Alcohol. This is a deadly concoction. Perveived woodiness in the hop flavour becoming prevalent. and maybe some roastiness. Bitter but not harshly so. If the carbonation and attenuation were better this beer would kick ass. Kind of like an American Barleywine.
