900 Jahre Markt Miesbach.

Warme, ronde smaak.

2Oct2017 Intensely sweet, dark malts, caramel, grain and bread, light molasses. Slightly hazy brown, medium, creamy, beige head. Light to medium sweet. More sweet grain malts, caramel, yeast, some esters, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Nice Weizenbock. Bottle at Markus Wasmeiers Museum, Schliersee.

Brown with little white head. Aroma is cinnamon and rather sour apples without peel, some lacto, overripe banana and milk chocolate. Taste is sweet caramel banana phenols with spicy yeasty lactic elements. Also some apple-y sourness and not much bitterness from molasses. Drinkable and full bodied but the resemblance with an apple strudel + cream creates the impression of biting into nothing. However an excellent Weizenbock. Not too phenolic or alcoholic and the apple cinnamon thing is very characteristic and likeable.

Bottle. Brown color with eggshell head. Aroma is chocolate, overripe bananas, caramel, a bit phenolic, cloves. Taste is overripe brown banana peel, chocolate, milky and spicy yeasts, cloves. Silky mouthfeel, low carbonation, mineralic finish. Good Weizenbock, not too phenolic and no off flavours.

12-05-17 // 500ml bottle in a Steinkrug. Brownish cloudy beer. Sweet malty body, banana power, nutty aromas, spices, smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Warming. Great Bock.

Kita (2327) - Koper, SLOVENIA - MAY 14, 2017
On tap, 0.50l. Hazy deep brown color with medium creamy tan-like head, great lacing and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel, bread, banana, dried fruit and herbs. Taste starts by sweet caramel and sourish yeast, follows by banana, dried fruit and grass, mouthfeel is mild spicy and warming, while finish is medium bitter. Full body, sticky texture and average carbonation in palate. Dirty bastard that put the last nail into my coffin after having few others lighter beers...

Salwal (486) - GERMANY - MAY 4, 2017
Bottle poured into wheat Glass. Pours dark brown with low head. Nose malty, banana, Cloves... Faint alcoholic... Taste intense malty alcoholic, Cloves, banana, some herbal notes... Finish dry and estery...

Pours a cloudy nut brown color with a huge, stable eggshell head. Smell is beautiful - bakers chocolate, melting caramel and dried, sugared plums among whole grain bread. Some raisins mingle into rock sugars with a warming alcohol undertone. Has a well nuanced medium carbonation with a fuller, sweet and malty body, balanced and clean. Tastes of dusty, stale chocolate with sweet toffee and peppery yeast among a soothing aqueous quality with a mineralic touch. Brings sugared plums to the palate, unfolding among the spicy yeast, creating a nice counterpart to an aqueous softness. Finishes sweet with a watery undertone, a little warming with lots of dried fruits and a very light bitterness from old hops. Drinks almost like a belgium strong ale with lots of spices and dried, sweet fruits, while finishing a little lighter and softer, clean as you would expect it from a Bock.

Benzai (16999) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - SEP 18, 2016
Bottle @ home. Hazy, even murky brown color, full sized beige head. Aroma is malts, wheat, sweetish raisins, brown sugar. Tastes about the same: malts (really don’t get any wheat in this), sweetness, caramel, overripe dark fruits with a slight alcohol bitter finish. Medium body, suitable carbonation. Quite pleasant.
