Bottle shared by Seb and drank with Guylaine to A: citrusy, nice funk, herbacy, light coriander, other spice. App: hazy copper thick lasting white head with great lacing. T/p: med body with light acidic finish. Moderate high carbonation. O: Nice aroma great complexity really like the herbacy it’s almost perfumy. It’s been a while since I’ve been impressed by a Hopfenstark beer but this one hits is target.

on tap on the premises. unclear bright golden with a very creamy white head offering good retention and lacing. sweetish bread, doughy grapes, some melon fruitiness, belgian spiciness - fairly present cinnamon; welcoming phenolic esters, minerals. moderately low carbonation - could be a lot brighter; light body - very oily; semi-sweet melon-spicy finish. another one sweet sister with interesting tropical-citrusy flavors.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a relatively clear gold with a medium sized white head. Soft citrus and musk on the nose, sweet yeast. Medium bodied, sweet and musky, soft musk, a bit of warming alcohol. Slow musk and warming alcohol into the finish, more musk. Tasty.

On tap at Station Ho.st (Montreal). Pours blond (slightly hazy) with medium white head, fully diminishing. Some white lacing. Aroma features Belgian yeast and citrus as well as hints of acidity. Taste: Belgian and saison yeast, hops, citrus. Very pleasant bitterness. Some acidity in the aftertaste. Medium bodied, light carbonation. Good, refreshing saison, although nothing spectacular.

My Bottom Line:
Pears, tropical fruit, honey and lightly peppery spice coalesce in this perfectly cohesive Belgian-style Blond Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the misty golden shine.
-The malts are perfectly developed, the esters sit upon them harmoniously, and the hops add that fruity/spicy touch which make everything gel. Beautiful 3-tier balance, a rare occurence these days.
-Drinkability is optimal.
-Carbonation is soft yet ample.

On tap at Station Ho.st.

2015-02-14. Crisp dark yellow body with a nice creamy off white head and lace. 3+ Aroma is pleasantly spiced, with an interesting melange of florals and fruit notes. Touches of lemon. Flavour is moderately bitter throughout, touches of lemon and notes of a not quite peppery spice character. Smooth average bodied palate, soft carbonation. On tap at Station Host, Montreal.
