COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First of a special series, this is another uncommon beer from Hopfenstark. True Belgian esters from Abbey yeast, a lot of malt and body without any alcohol taste and some grape flavor from New World hops.

On tap at Mondial de la bière Montréal 2015. It’s an unclear, amber colored beer topped by a small offwhite head leaving some lacing. Biscuity malts, hay, grass, pinecones and a generic fruityness in the aroma. It’s fullbodied, smooth and nicely carbonated, with a little malty, bready touch in the back of the flavor. Hay, grass and pine cones too, with a subtle bitterness. Long malty and lightly fruity finish. A bit malty this one but nice indeed. Especially love the mouthfeel. 150611

Draught @ Mondial de la bière Montréal 2015, Montréal, QC
Pours hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, yeast, dried fruits, floral, hay and grass. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long fruity, yeasty and grassy finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Draught at brewpub. Nice belgian yeast aroma, pear, tart, raisin, tropical, hops, dry finish. Solid belgian style brew, quite warming without much trace of alcohol.

Unique in it’s fruitiness as far as belgian strongs are concerned. Don’t know that i would have been able to specify "grape" without it being in the description, but that’s it. Slight grape flavor on top of subtle hopping, and a sweet and spicy belgian yeast. not a standout, but a pretty nice brew."

Station ho. St, Montreal tap: Pours orange with a white head. Aroma is full of various kinds of fruit (look at some of the ratings below for what some people sense in here), some spiciness, and a surprising amount of malts. It is sort of winy, but not exactly in a grapy way, if that makes any sense, which I am sure it doesn’t. This was kind of sweet and malty with some tastes that I find quite difficult to describe. It was interesting and unique, but it did not exactly float my boat.

Pours a hazy amber color with a eggshell foam. Big toasted malts, honey sweetness and layers of molasses, walnut bitterness and chewy grain.

tap on the premises. hazy yellow with a nice white head, good retention and lacing. tropical goodness, white grapes, slightly dank, belgian spiciness, wheat, fresh pear juice, hint of booze. moderate carbonation, light to medium body, some sweetness - a tad yoo much for my liking, ends with a grassy-fruity-spicy finish. interesting.

On tap @ Station Ho.St (Montréal). Hazy golden/amber with a medium off-white head and heavy lacing. Aroma of Belgian yeast, liquorice, light spices, malt and light alcohol. Taste is slightly sweet with yeast, Belgiumness, fruity notes, liquorice and a touch of alcohol. Medium body. Light carbonation. Dry finish. Interesting beer. The description I made of it doesn’t sound particularly unique, but the beer was definitely "outside the box". I would love to try one of the wine barrel-aged version of this beer... I really think there’s a good fit here.
