Bottle: Poured a deep black color ale with nice light brown foamy head with good retention and some very good lacing. Aroma of rich black chocolate with light residual sugar notes. Taste is also a great mix between some rich black chocolate with light roasted notes. Body is bit thin for style with great carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Very well brewed with great drinkability factor. godofsky (274) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 15, 2011
750ml bottle. pours pitch black with a thin moka head. aroma is loaded with chocolate and smoke. taste is too sweet for my liking, but the chocolate is definately there in a good way. not much bitterness. body is thin for the style. not a bad beer, but nothing special either. jredmond (8285) - New York, New York, USA - MAR 31, 2011

750 ml bottle, fresh. Nice black pour with a thin creamy whitish head. Great aroma of milk chocolate, light grainy notes and fruit. Taste is sweet, lots of chocolate with some fruity fig like taste and a hint of roasted grain. Palate is smooth, relatively weak carbonation. tgncc (3132) - Bellmore, New York, USA - FEB 18, 2011
The apearance is dark brown, red tinge, sligtht translucence. The aroma is sweet, brown sugar, chocolate. The flavor is the same as the aroma, but more roasty. Medium in body. Pine hop bitterness on the finish, some residual sweetness as well. Medium in body. Decent.

Bottle. Dark but thin enough to not look heavy or thick. Light alcohol and soaking licorice root and earth scent. Thin light brown head. Body seems thin for a Baltic Porter. Has a noticeable bit of booze that mixes with the chocolate and coffee with hints of molasses and licorice. Has more of a dark spirit flavour than beer. Could have been aged in barrels but was not. riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - FEB 6, 2011
750 bottle shared by suzygreenberg. Thanks Ben. Nose is tart and almost vinous. Lighter dark malt sweetness underneath, but mostly oddly tart and seemingly off. Dark brown pour with a large rocky head. Flavor starts tart and lactic, stays that way throughout pretty much. Some roasted malts underneath, but definitely unintended sourness. Airy carbonation. Not bad, but not meant to be this way I would think. SlovakSniper (5561) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 5, 2011
Bottle shared with blankboy & garthicus at Volo, circa Dec 2008. Deep ruby with a small mocha head. Roasted malt aroma with a slight lactic sourness and hints of cold coffee. Medium bodied. Flavour is interesting - quite malty, but also a bit funky, plus notes of caramel and dry cocoa. Quite unique, and quite nice. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - DEC 3, 2010
Draft. Pours a dark malty bruin body with a tan head. Malty dry with a nutty and roast y smoked tone. Dry wood and hint of coal. A drying smoky porter with a nice warming. Good.
