Marheb (5781) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 5, 2013

Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - DEC 3, 2010
Draft. Pours a dark malty bruin body with a tan head. Malty dry with a nutty and roast y smoked tone. Dry wood and hint of coal. A drying smoky porter with a nice warming. Good.

Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 18, 2008
Bottle at Volo. Opaque black with nice head. Some cherry pit and clean metals in the complex nose. Soft, low carbonation. Smooth. Licorice, soya, resin, balsamic, sour cherry. Gorgeous!

Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUN 8, 2010
Tap at Mondial 2010. Pours a deep dark woody slight hazed brown with a decent lasting head. Aroma is very sweet, brown sugar, caramel malts, molasses, toasty nutty chocolate, spices, herbs and earthy notes with maple sugar. Flavor is maple, earth, big toast and leather with nutty dark chocolate, oily hints, tobacco leaf, sharp caramelized buttery toffee, tons of licorice and anise seed spice- moderately clean in the end though.

muzzlehatch (4959) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 1, 2007
Sampled draught at the Mondial, Montreal (May 2007). Opaque with a nice bit of lasting head, utterly black....aroma is at first dominated by plump dark grapes and prunes, but soon lovely roasty malts show up, and chocolate-covered cherries sweeten things up later....the body follows quite as you would expect, very fruity and chocolaty, blueberries bursting through chocolate frosting and light whispers of cherry sauce swirling around....little bitterness to go with the light roastiness until the very finish, when a faint burnt note arrives....low carbonation, could be fuller in the mouth. Still very, very solid.

presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 12, 2011
Bottle. Dark but thin enough to not look heavy or thick. Light alcohol and soaking licorice root and earth scent. Thin light brown head. Body seems thin for a Baltic Porter. Has a noticeable bit of booze that mixes with the chocolate and coffee with hints of molasses and licorice. Has more of a dark spirit flavour than beer. Could have been aged in barrels but was not.

robinvboyer (4683) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 18, 2010
Licorice, anise, sweet roasted malts, touch of coffee. A little on the sweet side. Carb is way too high, nice mouth feel, a touch wattery in the finish.

rodenbach99 (4572) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 19, 2008

2.5
tiggmtl (4545) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 19, 2009
Strong fruity and chocolate aroma. Opaque black body is topped by a very weak and large bubbled head. Plenty of roasted malts with a sour cherry undertone that works with the bittersweet chocolate character. Medium full body with very low carbonation. I don’t think this bottle is at it’s best... Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle purchased at the brewery in July 2008.
