probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 16, 2009
500 ml bottle via julienhuxley, shared with Billy, served cool in a tuumbler. NO21/09.

App.: Deep brown-black, so-so tan head. Aroma: INFECTED! Unpleasant organic acids, some nice deep malts underneath (the silver lining), generally bad. Palate: Medium+ body, gentle carbonation. Flav.: Some nice black coffee and dark chocolate notes, light fruitiness, marred by infection; lightly sweet, low bitterness inappropriate tang.

Quite unfortunate. Needs to be re-rated.

Flavour is interesting - quite malty, but also a bit funky, plus notes of caramel and dry cocoa. Quite unique, and quite nice.
