lesifflebiere (1852) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 12, 2013

DerWeg (1678) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 13, 2010
UPDATED: AUG 6, 2010 NEW RATE - Opaque brown with creamy tan ring, nutty fruity aroma, taste is deeply sweet with a core of fruit and malt, light acidity plays out berry skins, and there is some leomon and grape and a hint earth, this would age quite well. ** OLD RATE - Brown look with small white head. Aroma lightly sweet with herbal and coffee notes. Lots of sweet tastes of malt, dark sugars, etc. Has some character of red wine and hint of coffee, very interesting! 7 4 7 3 12 = 3.3

Johnsense (1629) - - AUG 5, 2011
UPDATED: JUL 14, 2016 bottle. Massive 4 finger head, cola black. Aroma of roasted malts, brown sugar, molasses, sauna wood. Taste is a fair bit sweeter than the smell with lots of brown sugar, burnt caramel, toffee, roasted malts, coffee with sugar. A tad sweet for my tastes - if you can find the barrel aged version it’s a real treat and blows this (and most other quebec porters not produced by LTM) out of the water.

ametras (1574) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 3, 2014
On tap at BDT. Dark brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma is caramel, dark fruits, chocolate, bubble gum and molasses. Taste is caramel, roasted malts, dried fruits, nuts and smoke. Medium body, low carbonation, slick texture.

Stoned99 (1532) - St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 3, 2016
750 bottle shared with Guillaume and SlovakSniper. Aroma: dark red fruits, figs, raisin, slightly smoked. App: dark brown with burgundy tint, minimal off white head, little lacing. Taste and palate: full body, creamy, smooth, medium sweetness, some figs in mouth, light bitter finish. Overall: good but kinda sweet. Like the fig. Not too much candied fruits.

VTHopHead (1511) - Seymour, Tennessee, USA - AUG 3, 2008
Sample at the 2008 VT Brewers Fest - Poured a very dark brown/black in color with a small tan head. Small lacing on the glass. Aroma was heavy with roasted malts and dark fruit. Flavor was roasty with lots of fruitiness. Slightly sour and astringent at the end. Good beer, not a great one...

Diogène (1208) - Mirabel, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 24, 2009
UPDATED: JUN 19, 2009 On tap at the brewery. Pitch black with a medium mocha creamy head with good retention. aroma is deep chocolate, cream, roasted malt and some herbal hops. Flavor is a little sweeter than expected with chocolate, cream, roasted malt, herbal hops and a bitter finish. Full body. A very good Baltic porter. .

RoyceH (1199) - Hesperange, LUXEMBOURG - SEP 23, 2010
Tap at Church Key. Dark brown, light off-white film. Nose oddly lemony, sparkly, not unlike lemon washing up liquid. Undertones of plum. Mouth is plummy, prune, slight sourness and some spice. Slight sweetness, fruity, dark fruit, touch of peach at the end. Woodiness is there too. Really nice. Slight saltiness on the swallow.

dandeman (979) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 25, 2013
Aroma: Chocolate, roasted, nuts and coffee but on a very weak intensity. Appearance: Intense black with a café-creme head, average thickness, dense, with a very nice lacing. Taste: Attack is sweet with notes of milk chocolate, caramel, malted milk and honey. It is surprising how the roasted accents are not sticking out and by the same fact leaving a very weak roasted bitterness. Everything happens in sugars. Almost no wood, roast and smoke accents. Deceiving a bit.
