Deep rich smell of roast coffee, dark brown, ruby at the sides, small cappuccino head. Fine coffee flavour, dark chocolate, treacle, brazil nuts, liquorice. Full bodied, complex, very well balanced, bitter and bold. Great! radiomgb (2686) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 25, 2009
Dark brown in colour with a thin beige coloured head, no lacing. The aroma was sweet with some light chocolate, very faint hops, some burnt malts. The flavour is sweet and incredibly smooth, some coffee, roasted malts, very light alcohol. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium/light carbonation. Finishes long, dry with some hops.PilsnerPeter (3046) - Flushing, New York, USA - MAY 27, 2009
A good porter, very light alcohol in the flavour but it never becomes a distraction, good balance.
Bottle at Mondial 2008, Montreal, Quebec.
Sampled on May 30, 2008.
Tap at Spuyten Duyvil: Very deep brown pour with a khaki ring of head. Rich yet soft aroma- some licorice notes and light vanilla under a predominantly chocolaty malt nose. Creamy body (all of his beers have a nice palate) Rich flavor but smooth- fudgey, only mildly roasted with a soft fruitiness from the yeast that meshes with the nice chocolty malt presence- light vanilla as well. A rich yet cohesive & easy drinker. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUN 8, 2010
Tap at Mondial 2010. Pours a deep dark woody slight hazed brown with a decent lasting head. Aroma is very sweet, brown sugar, caramel malts, molasses, toasty nutty chocolate, spices, herbs and earthy notes with maple sugar. Flavor is maple, earth, big toast and leather with nutty dark chocolate, oily hints, tobacco leaf, sharp caramelized buttery toffee, tons of licorice and anise seed spice- moderately clean in the end though. czar (9094) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 5, 2010
Sweet dark fruits, a bit too sweet to my taste. Medium to heavy body. Bottle kept on foaming forever. Anyhow, microcarbonation, toffee, a bunch of flavours. Ho.st rocks.

A deep dark porter with a very thin moka head. A sweet bready chocolate aroma, musky, smooth alcohol notes, dark fruits, a bit of wet dough. In mouth, a smooth sweet chocolate with maraschino cherries, plums, some bananas, lingering coffee bitterness, dry and sustained. On tap at St-Bock, April 23rd, 2011. Deep black beer with woody, fruity and roasty aromas. String taste of alcohol. A great beer in its style. tom10101 (6087) - Quebec, CANADA - NOV 6, 2012
Bottle. Dark reddish brown with a huge slowly diminishing creamy beige head and nice lacing. Aroma of chocolate, liquorice, vanilla, roasted malt and caramel. Taste is sweet with chocolate (lots!), vanilla and caramel. Low to moderate carbonation. Not easily drinkable because of all the sugar. Good Baltic Porter with a nice chocolate profile. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JUN 9, 2013
Richmond 20th. Dark brown, but clear. Little head. Aroma is lightly chocolate, a touch tart. Flavor is quite nice, lots of chocolate, some dark fruit. Pretty good. Radek Kliber (7368) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - JUN 8, 2007
On tap at Mondial.
Dark brown falling into ebony. Smallish creamy head.3+
Roasty, even with coco accents. Lightly vinous. Roasty, hint of smoke.
Full bodied .Rich potent pit tar like smoky charcter. It is quiet different in character to let say Polish Baltics. I feel that the emphasis is placed in complexity of its brew than straight forward solid yet unsophisticated quality roast. Here roasted qualities are secondary. Over all quiet pleasant potent brew. Long lasting gently bitter finish.
