It’s not a smoke beer. It’s not a tart Berliner Weisse. It’s maybe a weird saison. BerlinerRauchSaison. Yes! Low gravity beer with good presence of wheat. A small layer of smoke malt disappears after a few sips. And light tartness and spice from the Saison yeast. Refreshing and flavourful at the same time.

Golden orange. Smell is anice balance of sweetish malt, farmhouse yeast and smoke. Light campfire flavor with a little fruit. Not great, but pretty cool.

Can for $3.75 from Cork N Bottle in Pacific Grove, CA. Hazy gold pour. Aroma of smoked meat, lemon water, wheat, acidic sourness. Flavor is acidic sour, light smoke, wheat, light clove. Soft body. Light to medium carbonation.

16 oz can poured at Matt’s. A cloudy pale yellow pour with no head. Smokey ham aroma. Flavor is a soft smokey meat with soft saison typical hidden behind. Weird! All I can really say about this one.

Can in Seattle. Thanks Andrew. Cloudy yellow, dissipated head. Huge porky smoke nose, with some lemony undertones. Lighter, hazy sip. Lots of smokiness, but also some ester and yeast. Strange, but balances out well. Interesting.

Purchased in Washington DC in May 2017. Slightly opaque yellow with no head. Low carbonation. Very mixed taste on the palette. Slightly tart, smoked, hopped and malty with a hint of saison. Personally not a fan of this balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Hopfenstark Station Ho.st, Montreal. Clear pale gold, white head. Aroma of smoke and sour fruit. Taste is mild smoke, hay, tart fruit. Interesting, but this combination doesn’t really work for me. It does seem like a smoked Berliner Weisse rather than a smoked saison.

ABUSEDGOAT (2788) - California, USA - JUN 1, 2017
Cloudy golden color with a white head. Aroma is strongly smoky with notes of pale malt, wheat, yeast. Lighter bodied, lesser smoky flavor with a very light sourness. Different to say the least.
