Draught at ’Mondial de la Biere 2009’, Montréal, QC. Pours a cloudy peach colour with a small diminishing white head. Nice aroma of tart raspberries, Belgian yeast and a mild sourness. Delicious flavour: Tart and lightly sour raspberries. More fruit shows up, nice tart finish. So refreshing! Good body. I friggin’ loved it -- Hopfenstark does it again! On tap at Prohibition Pig last weekend. Pours golden with a slight pink hue. The nose is full of earthy raspberries, a bit of spice, and mild acidity. Flavor balances the base with underlying raspberry flavor and acidity quite well. Light body with crisp carbonation. Very easy drinking. Excellent beer. Mondiale. Surprisingly one of my beers of the fest. Pinkish orange, no head. Great aroma - sour and strawberry. Fantastic taste - lots of fruit, tons of sourness, very quenching. I want to drink this all summer long. Nice job Fred! garthicus (2962) - Dublin, IRELAND - JUN 22, 2009
I agree with tupalev, one of my favourites of the festival too. Appearance: Orange, almost pink, hazy with a tiny white head. Aroma: "Smells like a Hopfenstark" lovely champagne yeast, pineapple, apple and some tartness. Flavour: Peaches, apples, bitter, initially sour but then suddenly sweet, a lovely raspberry finish - awesome. HogTownHarry (7085) - Toronto (Harbourfront), CANADA - AUG 25, 2009
Draught. At Mondial 2009 - day 1. Cloudy peach colour with an average white head. sour fruity/funky aroma, plenty of yeast and raspberry seed bitterness. The taste - essentially no alcohol, just lovely raspberry seeds, lemon juice, spicy yeast - very smooth, not remotely harsh, a terrific beer. Light-ish body, very acidic, with a quick, dry tart finish - makes you want more immediately! Fricking awesome - Hopfenstark knows sours ... oh yeah!

Tastes very much like a classic hopfenstark saison with some tart rapsberries added. There is the slight funk and pepperiness of a saison with a lovely tart raspberry. Extremely enjoyable! SuzyGreenberg (1604) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 17, 2010
750 ml bottle; thanks to Fred for the trade; pours pale gold with creamy white head; kind of a Brett and raspberry mix on the nose; creamy fruit and stale malt; nice level of lactic fruit and sourness; cherries, light malt, honey, yum craftycarl21 (2338) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 16, 2011
On tap at Farmhouse in Burlington. Cloudy orange pour with a smallish head. Nose of nice raspberry, wheat, and lemony funk. flavor is almost like a saison with a touch of brett and just a subtle hint of raspberry, though the fruitiness comes out more as the beer warms. Good carbonation, nice stuff overall. Huhzubendah (3775) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 2, 2012
On draft at Churchkey in D.C.
The beer is a light hazy yellow hue. The head is rather small, but hangs around for a considerable time. The aroma is of berries and fruit with a little farm funkiness. I think I like it. The aroma is better than the taste, but the beer is good nonetheless. The feel is somewhat thin and the flavor fades too quickly. This is an interesting beer and worth a try, should you come across it.
