On tap in Palm Harbor....poured a reddish-brown, hazy, with a small beige head. Aroma is malty, light choco-caramelish, vaguely mocha-ish. Hops balance the flavor pretty well, with the strong malty flavor being held politely in check---thank God for that. A bit too thin in the mouth though. Finishes lightly bitter and dry, but not terribly disappointing. scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 4, 2005
Draft - Crimson and browns, velvety light tan head. Aroma held notes of chocolate, grapefruit, spice, and light coffee. Flavor was almost a match to aroma. A good hop bitterness and sweet malt combo provide a nice balancing act. Full bodied yet somewhat thin, soft carbonation, bitter drying finish.

Draft at the Linebaugh location... Very murky, ruby ale with a small, creamy, beige head. Great retention. Nose of milk chocolate, cinnamon and leather. Well-balanced flavor is a little alcoholic with notes of caramel, mocha and grapefruit. Nicely bittered. Full-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Finishes bitter and then dry. Very enjoyable mirco brew. Although Hoppers doesn't necessarily consider it so, I would classify this beer as a brown ale. The aroma offers pleasant notes of cocoa and butter (but not butter in a bad way). This beer starts off light with hints of cocoa and a nutty flavor, and moves gradully into a deep, yet soft, liquor flavor. It settles very nicely on the tongue and produces a pleasnat display of brussells lace as well.
