I may be a little biased... But here’s my attempt at an honest review.
Nice malt flavor and aroma: Bread/toast, roasted, a little caramel, moderately sweet. Good bitterness for the style. Some fruity yeast character; secondary to the malt, but definitely present. Sledutah (7534) - Utah, USA - SEP 6, 2012
1 beer on tap and 1 from a cask that was dry hopped with Willamette hops. The cask beer really made this beer shine. The base (tap) was solid, but the cask’s mouthfeel and dry hopping was a nice touch. Good job Dallas and Donovan douglas88 (9187) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 3, 2012
Appearance: Hazy brown with a small beige head and some lacing
Aroma: Toasted malts, nutty and chocolate
Taste: Toasted malts, chocolate, cola and a dry bitterness in the finish
Very nice, clean and crisp.
On tap at the Brewery and in cask dry-hopped with Williamette hops at the brewery. Big time congrats to Dono for doing the casks and to Dallas for this brew! Lets hope this isn’t the last time I have Dallas’ brews on tap at a brewery. Pours a dark brown color with a medium white head. The cask version has a much smaller head. A nice nose of toasted malts and some sweet nutty notes. The flavor is a mellow and flavorful Mild with light fruity hops, chocolate perhaps or some sweeter malt note, a bit of earthy flavor. The cask was really distinct with much more hoppiness and a easygoing cask palate. Both are very good. I missed the Golding version.
