750mL thanks to douglas88. Pours a clear, deep gold like apple juice with a medium white head that has little retention and scant lace. Nose is fruity pineapple (Citra), Bosc pear, mild egg, with chamomile and yeast phenolic spice. Taste is pretty neutral, doughy, corny, malty with little bitterness and decent biscuity fullness unwanted for style. Not a lot of balance and a bit too much body. Comes across more as Golden Ale than Saison. Travlr (26412) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 17, 2011
Bottle courtesy of GT2, thanks! Lightly hazy golden color, medium white head. Aroma is very lager-like with some hay and straw. Taste has vanilla, white pepper, straw. Not bad douglas88 (9794) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 3, 2011
750 ml bottle. Pours a totally clear orange color with a large white head. Some lacing. The aroma is sweet earthy grains, some citrus hops, funky, certainly a bit of barnyard in there. The flavor is a unique and awesome brew; sweet citrus, oranges and lemons, light bitterness, smooth peppery spices, very juicy, just a huge amount of flavor here. A nice easygoing and effervescent palate. Totally unique and genius- Donovan this is a homerun. Sledutah (7977) - Utah, USA - JUN 28, 2011
750ml bottle from the brewery Gription79 (2892) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - JUN 20, 2011
Appearance: Pours slightly hazy yellow/golden with a big frothy white head and good lacing
Aroma: Wheat, spices and ripe fruit
Taste: Light malts, yeast, spicey, fruity and lemon. Dry finish
Very nice and refreshing. A nice bitterness all the way through.
This is a great American skewed Saison.
The beer comes in a 750ml capped bottle.
Golden in color with white long lasting head
Aroma: yeast driven, spicy, earthy, strong hop presence, (punch bowl is fairly accurate) lots of tropical fruit
Taste: rustic Saison yeast, earthy, tangerines, bready malts,
This is a dry beer with a firm bitterness that is always in check with everything else that is going on. This is a great Saison. I really enjoy what the Citra hops brought to this beer.
