Our Summerset Saison Ale is made with traditional Saison grains of barley malt, spelt, and raw oats. We added Citra hops to both the kettle and during fermentation-along with complex rustic farmhouse yeast-giving a summer punch bowl of refreshing hoppiness. Enjoy this modern take of a classic artisan ale.

750mL thanks to douglas88. Pours a clear, deep gold like apple juice with a medium white head that has little retention and scant lace. Nose is fruity pineapple (Citra), Bosc pear, mild egg, with chamomile and yeast phenolic spice. Taste is pretty neutral, doughy, corny, malty with little bitterness and decent biscuity fullness unwanted for style. Not a lot of balance and a bit too much body. Comes across more as Golden Ale than Saison.

750 ml bottle. Pours a totally clear orange color with a large white head. Some lacing. The aroma is sweet earthy grains, some citrus hops, funky, certainly a bit of barnyard in there. The flavor is a unique and awesome brew; sweet citrus, oranges and lemons, light bitterness, smooth peppery spices, very juicy, just a huge amount of flavor here. A nice easygoing and effervescent palate. Totally unique and genius- Donovan this is a homerun.

2/24/12. 750mL bottle shared by thirdeye11. Clear copper pour with a small off-white head. Fruity, estery aroma with banana and sweet sugars. Sweet, floral flavor with a touch of plastic, dry yeast, and lingering sweetness. Not too shabby.

750 ml bottle courtesy of Sledutah. Used a snifter. Thick, full head with excellent retention. Nose is lemon and a touch of Barnyard. The taste is a myriad of flavors. Hops, lemon citrus, hay/ barnyard and some light malt to balance it. Complex, yet refreshing. Im glad I didnt share this bottle with anybody. As soon as I finished the 1st glass, I ran to finish the bottle. An excellent Saison. I really think this is a creative version of this style. If you can trade for a bottle, do it! Many thanks go out to Craig on this one
