COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer is Old School Baltic Porter: American-Style, a 10 percent ABV Baltic-style porter brewed with black pepper to be “reminiscent of the original Baltic Porters, with many layers of roasted and toasted and caramelized malt flavors.” The porter is being brewed at Dry & Bitter in Copenhagen, Denmark, and is one of three different beers being released in Hoppin Frog’s 2016 European Tour Collaboration Series. The series, which started in 2012, is composed of beers brewed by Hoppin’ Frog brewmaster Fred Karm and other breweries across Europe.

Sample during the "Hoppin’ On Deck 2" tasting on 06/04/2017. Opaque brown-black color with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of charred malt, bittersweet chocolate and earthy coffee. The finish is roasty with a dark chocolate and malt aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

22 oz bottle shared with Tmoney99 and the Nine Giant crew from notes. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, chocolate, some earthy notes, light black pepper, char, some dark fruit, carries the abv nicely, solid Baltic Porter.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that was mostly lasting and produced excellent lacing. Moderate toasted malt, spice and alcohol aroma. Medium to abundant body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid brew and very good for style.

650ml bottle from Beer Bazaar in Hainesville, cellar aged 2 months. Pours a very, very dark brown pour with a brown head into my Only Child funky glass, with bits of spotty lace. Aroma has big molasses, some toffee, light espresso, and some spices. Taste is of sweet molasses, roasted malt, light cocoa, a touch of roast and some pepper. Stronger than medium bodied with some alcohol. The blend is solid and the carbonation is soft. Finishes sweeter than bittersweet. Interesting, solid representation of style. Enjoyable. 13.6

Bez większego rozpisywania - dobre piwo, bardziej w stronę śliwki, mocno czekoladowe, wytrawne. Brakowało ciała, ułożenia i gęstości.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2017 Sliwka w czekoladzie w zapachu, czekolada w smaku, polslodkie, mocno czekoladowe. Nisko wysycone, sporo cia?a.
