Bottle. Wow, I should have bought more of this. It is fantastic. Chocolate and brownies with a nice deep maltiness. Some nice hopping to balance. Pitch black pour with a deep brown head that fully coats. Creamy and full bodied, but clean. A black patent char on the finish. LoFi (1748) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 20, 2014
Bottle from backlog.
Black with a brown head.
Aroma: licorice, peach, lemon, roasted and creamy.
Taste: salmiak, hoppy with peach and lemon + hard lemon candies, milk chocolate, coffee, roasted.
Very tasty. zoucrew102 (2048) - - MAY 17, 2014
Bomber. Roasted malt/coffee aroma with hints of earthy rye and chocolate. Pours deep, black with a thin, light brown head and very little lacing. Strong roasted malt and coffee flavors to start. Finishes very dry with some some earthiness from the rye, but mostly more roastiness. Good in some respects but the other flavors overpower what chocolate might be there. weaselkenievil (1609) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2014
Bottle shared with and courtesy of wyzzywyz22. Cheers mate. I don’t come across Hoppin’ Frog beers much but I love them when I do. Poured black with a nice darkish tan head. Roasted coffee, chocolate, big aroma, cocoa powder, nice hops, chocolate in the flavour was great. Really liked this one.

Rated from notes taken on 9 Mar 2014 -- Poured from the bomber. An oil slick into my glass. Jet black with a little brown head. Smell is dark and dank. This beer would probably have been more enjoyable if I had drank it earlier in the night. Overall enjoyable, but I would like to give it another shot to truly appreciate it. Another late night share by RussianDragon. Thanks Dave!
The beer is near black with a small beige collar. Sparse lacing. The aroma brings baker’s chocolate, roast, ripe dark fruits, bread. The rye character is subtle, but does add a nice touch. Cocoa and dark roast. Big time Danish influence in this stout. Medium to full bodied with moderately low carbonation. A touch of bitterness and dry cocoa powder in the finish. A solid beer. I really enjoyed this. Palme (4816) - Bergen, NORWAY - APR 23, 2014
0.65l bottle. It looks really good in the glass this one. Totally black when it has settled and it has this really milkshake dark creamy dense super lacing head that just screams DRINK ME! Love the aroma as well. It’s so deep and roasted, but also super sharp-hoppy and almost hedge like in a way. It has chocolate, vanilla, wood and a little bit of something burned. Just lovely. It’s a bit higher on the carbonation than I had imagined and it’s not hard to feel a heavy thickness in the mouth. Tastes beautiful. It’s light - or a bit more than light burned. Lots of lightdrinkable qualities here also - something I actually wasn’t expecting. It’s not to thick or chewy, just filled with lots of flavor. No doubt that it’s heavy roasted this. Almost some hard burned coffee beans with chocolate cake and a kick-you-in-the-teeth-bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. A wonderful delicious beverage. 04.01.2014 RussianDragon (578) - - APR 23, 2014
Pours a deep black, with lasting uneven head. Aroma is rye, spice and lactic tang. Taste: Roasted malts, lactic mouthfeel and tang. Chocolate and rye notes are overall subdued, but tastes great. wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - APR 17, 2014
Bottle, Beers of Europe. Pitch black pour with a reserved tan head. Glorious beak of chocolate, roasted malts and fragrant hop. More excellent choc in the flavour alongside some well placed hoppage. Full bodied and smooth, just a real treat. This is a very tasty Impy that walks the walk....yeah it does rock.
