Opaque black beer, thin chocolate coloured head. Minerally dark malt nose. Softish semi dry palate, light and airy. Dark malt with subtle notes of barrelling and chocolate. A little alcohol presence too subtle to be reliably called bourbon. This complexity comes without roastiness and bitterness making it a refined beer. A little subtle bubblegum and banana sweetness in the finish.
Bottle shared in London - thanks to Colin. Pours deep brown with a foamy, beige head. Hearty dark malts in the nose, roast, chocolate. Emisum sweet flavour with moderate ash, dark berries, baking cocoa, ripe berries, hints of coffee. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming in the finish with more nicely rounded chocolate character, moderate roast, cocoa. Great stuff. Rasmus40 (20922) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - NOV 5, 2011
