Amazing beer, start to finish. The mouthfeel on this beer is so velvety and seamless that it defies description. The flavor is high on malt with notes of milk chocolate, coffee, vanilla and bourbon. Outstanding to say the least. DoublEE (782) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - AUG 15, 2012
Looked like motor-oil. Very thin tan head. Not much carbonation. Unbelievable aromas of vanilla, chocolate, and coffee. EXTREMELY drinkable. n0mel (250) - FINLAND - OCT 11, 2012
(From notes 5 Oct, 2012) Bottle. Pitch black color. The head is brown and disapears immediately. The aroma is fantastic: caramel/vanilla, coffee, coconut, chocolate. Flavor is a strong coffee with chocolate, bitter and warming. Silky smooth in the mouth. This was a stupendous imperial stout. Dazz3 (1798) - Hallsberg, SWEDEN - OCT 20, 2012
Sampled at UCTS testing. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Smells salty, coffee and roasted malt. Tastes hoppy, roasted malt, abit coffee and soy and vanilla northropfrye (3604) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - MAR 23, 2013
Could be one of my favourite beers of all time. Wonderful whisky and bread aroma, sweetness, coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts. Impressive brown chocolate head and dark cola body. Taste is sweet with a bitter coffee backbone and lots of booze. This is an amazing beer!

whisky nose, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, black, cloudy, brown foam, medium bitterness, light sweetness, full body, thick feel, creamy, average carbonation, long whiskey finish, ads135 (4607) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - DEC 10, 2013
About as good as an oatmeal stout can be. Lots of dark chocolate and licorice. Slick on the tongue. GenDV138 (7284) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - JAN 10, 2015
22 oz bottle poured into a snifter. Green cap, purchased around mid-2014 so I assume it’s either 2013 or 2014 rather than 2009. Black with thin tan head to ring. Aromas of whiskey, dark chocolate, light caramel and dark fruit, some booze. Tastes of dark chocolate, bourbon, light oak, subtle dark fruit, oats. Full body with a dry and slightly warm finish. Alcohol is very well masked. Delicious and very well-balanced. Beerhunter111 (20476) - P´Castle, GERMANY - JAN 11, 2015
Das Bier ist total schwarz und es hat eine schöne kompakte bräunliche Schaumkrone. Geruch intensiv röstmalzig, viel Kaffee, Vanille und Holz. Geschmack sehr weich, viel Vanille, Schokolade, Kaffee, sahnig, total geniales Bier. Beerandsex (12) - Ohio, USA - JAN 11, 2015
Yes! BORIS in a barrel. I would definitely sleep with this beer. The already legendary BORIS with a healthy dose of wood and ... bourbon? Not sure if I’m just getting wood or a little carmelly sweetness from the bourbon as well.
