22 oz. bottle thanks to Willrunforbeer. 2013 vintage. No head on the opaque black liquid. Aroma is subtle vanilla, smooth bourbon, mild oak, and burnt molasses. ericdevin (988) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - JAN 4, 2015
The bourbon is layered and mellow. Oak, vanilla, lingering burnt sugar, a mild rye whiskey malt hint that really helps round out the flavor. The spicy hint in the finish really helps integrate the stout character really nicely. Great oak character that is the Pappy barrel. Damn fine!
Bottle via Justin. Pours a dark brown/black, little to no head. Aroma milk chocolate, toasted coconut. Body roasty, but finish a little too hot for me. Good but not in the top tier of imperial stouts for me. Bylicki (12) - - DEC 24, 2014
Bottle from the brewery. The whiskey is very much evident in the nose. Quite a bit of banana and vanilla through out. Extremely smooth and creamy. Well done.

Tap at the release. Pour is jet black with a tight mocha head. Nose has a strong bourbon note with subtle wood nuances. The malt profile isn’t super bright, dry chocolate and a moderate roasted malt. Sweetness kicks in with a touch of ink. Taste is a bit brighter and richer, bourbon is clean with wood notes and more rich chocolate. Some notes of roasted malt and a hint of bitter coffee with the bitterness lingering through the finish. Sweetness starts to pick up towards the finish as it warms. Full bodied with strong carbonation and a soft delicate feel. hopscotch (11045) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 7, 2014
Bottle... Pours black with a wispy, fleeting, khaki head. The aroma features brownies, vanilla and toasted oak. Medium to full-bodied with soft carbonation. The flavor is acrid, burnt, roasty and chock full of rich, smooth Pappy Van Winkle bourbon. Finishes scorched, boozy and carbonic. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian!
