Appearance: Medium chestnut brown. Hazy. Thin head of small white bubbles. Nose: Sweet malt, caramel, bourbon, vanilla, clove and touch of nutmeg. Taste: Initially sweet, heavy with booze and caramel. Resolving into the more subtle spice and oak aspects. Body: medium and silky. Decent carbonation Parting thoughts: A big Christmas. The barrel aging lends some very complimentary notes to the typical spice and malt.

22oz bottle. Poured a hazy amber color with a smaller sized off white head. I noted down - I really don’t like spices. I was hoping the barrel aging would kill some of it, but lots of spice.

Draft at Bronx Ale House. Nice rich Christmas brew. Vanilla, clove, bourbon, caramel, a little pipe tobacco. Good but not the best from HF, and well overpriced at $12 for a 9 oz snifter. HF could lower their prices a bit methinks.

I love Hoppin Frog, I love Fred Karm, and I’m glad I found this beer. Pours hazy ruby with minimal head. Big cranberry, spice, nutmeg, hops in the nose. Tastes of berries, gingerbread, plum pudding, and sprucey hops. Sweet finish, but appropriate as an X-Mas ale.

Hazy amber pour with a thin off white head and light lacing .... aroma of cinnamon mostly, other spices like nutmeg and allspice .... taste is mostly spice, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and some dry oak .... has some a bit of a booze finish ... dry and spicy finish .... tastes much like the usual

Draft at RnHw with Linh. Pours a deep, murky brown body. Nose is cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium to creamy with notes of vanilla and nutmeg. Way too much Yankee Candle character.

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2016 This beer is quite bad. It smells and tastes like some strange mix of dark ale with sweet wine, rancid candy and spice. Just went too far experimenting with this product.

Bomber. Amber-brownish pour, small off-white head with not much retention. Nose is spice forward (lots of Cinnamon and Ginger), brown sugar, caramel, cedar, bourbon notes. Mouth is medium-full, kinda oily, sweet with a shitload of spice, caramel, toast, dried fruit, booze. Tastes like a gingerbread man who drank too much whiskey at grandma’s house after Thanksgiving dinner. Ringing in the holiday season. Ho,ho,ho. Gonna need aspirin in the morning,
