Bottle, pours dark brown, aroma is woody and flavour has a lot of wood in there too, quite strong flavour wise. But overall, it was enjoyable gunnfryd (15794) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 18, 2013

CocaCola i färgen, med litet vitt skum. Doftar mandelbiskvier, mandelkubb, karamell, kakor, svartsoppa. Smakar flytande mandelbiskvi, svartsoppa, karamell, aningen alkohol i slutet.

650 ml bottle. A deep amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma has caramel malt, burnt sugar, dry fruit, wood, Christmas spices and alcohol. Flavor has sweet caramel malt, wood, dry fruit, raisins, some alcohol and a nice spicy touch. Medium to full body, feels perfect. A nice, tasty and complex beer, just a tad too much alcohol but this will probably be reduced with some aging. superspak (6638) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - JAN 25, 2013
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, 2012 bottling. Pours fairly clear deep red amber color with a 1 finger foamy off white head with good retention, that reduces to ring of lace that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of caramel, raisin, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, bourbon, toast, light oak, and light herbal. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of malt, spices, and barrel notes. Taste of raisin, caramel, brown sugar, toast, cinnamon, bourbon, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, light oak, and herbal. Lingering notes of dark fruit, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, bourbon, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, and herbal on the finish for a good bit. Very nice flavor balance and complexity of malt/spice/barrel notes; with zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a slick and fairly creamy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Christmas ale. Great balance and complexity of malt and spice flavors with moderate barrel character; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, maple, cinnamon, chrismas spices, alcohol - sprit, brunsvier. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
22oz bottle saved since last year, shared with friends on New Year’s Eve. Clear darker red color. Light tan / khaki head. Couple dots of lace. Nice spice and whiskey nose. Baked apple and cinnamon. Bigger body. Light smooth and crisp carbonation. Lightly viscous aftertaste. Nice light warmth. Nice balanced whiskey and spice aftertaste. Spicy - sweet taste, light bitter. Great christmas beer, the whiskey barrel is an interesting and tasty twist.
