UPDATED: MAY 20, 2014 Bottle at oatmeal stouts tasting at Beer&Beyond. Pours dark brown with a small head. Roasted, malty and hoppy aroma, with some chocolate notes, a bit stall. Sweet, with roasted, dark chocolate and piney flavors, medium bitterness, boozy but alright . Medium-full bodied. MattiasA (862) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAY 18, 2014

Bottled. Pours deep dbrown with an average, lacing beige head. Aromaof roasted malt, cofffe, piney notes and grapefruit. Sweet flavor that ends dry and nice bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carb. An excellent brew indeed. metalhead0043 (207) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - DEC 30, 2013
22 ounce for 6 bucks. Pours black with a huge brown head. Aroma is slightly piney but mostly chocolate. Taste is similar, starting out with piney hoppiness and leading into the chocolate and malt flavor. Body is average, a little slick with average carbonation. It’s listed as a Strong Ale; I’m not quite sure that describes the taste accurately. Still, this is a very good beer. ads135 (4923) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - DEC 10, 2013
I’m not usually a fan of the bottled black and tans, but this is a great version. Smooth, mildly sweet, with equal parts chocolate and pine.

22 oz. bottle, sent from Daniel719 (thanks a lot, Daniel), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out roasted malt, caramel, and a little resin. Flavour brings out dry roasted malt, caramel, some moderate dark fruits, and a strong piney hop character. Surprisingly dry for all the malt character that shines through. Highly drinkable considering the gravity on this. llkc (2654) - århus, DENMARK - NOV 16, 2013

Bottle. Moderate dark bread, toasted and dark chocolate, pine resin for the hops, dough and leather for the yeast, with vanilla and milk in the background. Head is small to average size, frothy, tan with good lacing and good legs and is fully lasting. Color is very dark. Flavor starts sweet and lightly to moderate acidic, then finishes lightly sweet, acidic and bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, creamy with a soft carbonation. Even and balanced aromas and flavors all around, yet the IPA and the Imperial Stout can easily be isolated on the nose and tongue. kaser (6366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 3, 2013
Black pour from bottle. Smokey aroma. Like a porter. Carmel and malty taste. Coffee tastes with milky finish. Not bad. Unique Scrapersnbeer (1532) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 15, 2013
Floral and coffee aromas, and that licorice scent that comes from mixing sharp hops with dark roast malt. Deep brown-black color, although thinner than porter, looks like a frothy schwarz maybe. Very bitter start, with dried out bittersweet malt to follow. No surprises that this is 2/3 split rather than half and half. Body doesn’t come off as heavy, but this is a filling beer. Interesting take on Black and Tan.
