COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BORIS the Crusher made with coffee from the Hippie Coffee Company in Canton, OH. Freshly roasted coffee flavor and aroma add satisfying levels of complexity to this robust stout, perfectly complimenting its intense, rich roasted character. Cold infusion with whole coffee beans keeps the bitterness low and the flavor high!

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Kevin! Oily black pour, pretty thick looking with some deep tan edges & a small, silky mocha film resting on top. Aroma is full of burnt, oily coffee beans & spent coffee grounds... Intensely heavy coffee aroma with a backing of roasted malts & a little back-end bitter cocoa dust. Taste reminds me of a more tame, non-barrel version of BCS coffee with the big, oily, thick, deep, roasty coffee bean presence, obviously without the bourbon & wood. Roast, burnt brown sugar, mild ash, a touch of astringency, a slight milkiness in the finish that collides with a hint of bitter malt. Medium bodied, not as thick as I’d imagine. Very nice stout from Hoppin’ Frog, another sweet addition to the BORIS series.

Black as sin and with nose rich on coffee and malts. Taste slight acidous but still very rich on coffee and almost cocoa. Palate long and oily with herbal notes. Quite different from first impression. Overall very nice to enjoy on its own or with dark food.

Nieprzejrzyscie czarne, piana szybko znika, W aromacie na pierwszym planie kawa, paloność i czekolada. W smaku kawa, wisnie w czekoladzie, marcepan, paloność, dosyć treściwe, goryczka wyraźna i lekko zalegająca, alkohol mocno grzeje w przełyku.

Black color, small brown head. Aromas of coffee, roasted coffee beans, roasted malt, chocolate, oats and caramel. Roasted taste of coffee beans, roasted malt, coffee flavored chocolate and cacao. Bitter finish that feels a bit off - like day old coffee. Overall really good.

On tap at Ölbaren. Smell of dark malts, roasted sugar and chocolate. Similar taste, sweet with toasted sugar. Slight too roasted, wouldn’t have minded more sweetness. Slight boozy.
