COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BORIS the Crusher made with coffee from the Hippie Coffee Company in Canton, OH. Freshly roasted coffee flavor and aroma add satisfying levels of complexity to this robust stout, perfectly complimenting its intense, rich roasted character. Cold infusion with whole coffee beans keeps the bitterness low and the flavor high!

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Kevin! Oily black pour, pretty thick looking with some deep tan edges & a small, silky mocha film resting on top. Aroma is full of burnt, oily coffee beans & spent coffee grounds... Intensely heavy coffee aroma with a backing of roasted malts & a little back-end bitter cocoa dust. Taste reminds me of a more tame, non-barrel version of BCS coffee with the big, oily, thick, deep, roasty coffee bean presence, obviously without the bourbon & wood. Roast, burnt brown sugar, mild ash, a touch of astringency, a slight milkiness in the finish that collides with a hint of bitter malt. Medium bodied, not as thick as I’d imagine. Very nice stout from Hoppin’ Frog, another sweet addition to the BORIS series.

(Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm, 2 Sep 2017) Black colour with creamy, dark brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, fresh roasted coffee and cacao. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, dark chocolate, cacao, black rye bread and a mild coffee bitterness. Full body, quite dry. Really tasty, with loads of fresh coffee. Excellent beer.

From tap; black as the night, brown head; very chocolate dominated aroma, some spiciness; taste is chocolate, nice roasty, enough but not too much burn in the finish, on the dry side

One More Beer Festival, Kraków (02.09.2017) Czarny jak smoła trunek. Ciemno brązowa, umiarkowana piana. Smak i aromat są zbliżone do siebie. W zasadzie cały rdzeń piwa opiera się o kawę. Jest to natomiast mocno palona, gorzka kawa. Dużo nut palonych, popiołowych, gorzka czekolada, ciemne slody. Minimalny karmel i ciemne owoce. Umiarkowana tekstura, niskie nasycenie. Lepsze niż Rocky Mountain, ale ponownie nie wyrwało mnie z butów..
